I'm tired.
Jake:
"You're a what?!" Faye yelled furiously.
I sighed, "A witch hunter. I work for Isaac, who works for Eben."
"All this time. This whole time! It was you!" Cassie looked fearful, as she took a couple steps back from me. The other girls did as well.
"You son of a bitch," Adam sneered. He punched me in the face again, and kept going. Melissa and Cassie pried him off of me, the stinging still lingering on my face as Faye helped me up.
"Why are you helping him?!" Adam snarled.
"Because he's the only chance of finding my sister!" Faye yelled. "If you really love her, you'll set this bullshit aside and help us find her."
Adam stood there breathlessly. He glared at me, but didn't interfere nonetheless."They've been hiding out at the boatyard, where you all were captured Halloween night," I said quietly, looking at all of them.
"They didn't take me because I'm with them. I have been since I left. Isaac found me, recruited me. Told me that witches killed my parents, and I've been angry ever since. It wasn't until I started falling in love with Evie that I started backing out. I swear, I didn't know they were going to attack.""I don't care about that, just get us to her." Faye said.
"I will. But there's something else."
"What is it?" Diana asked.
"Cassie. I figured it out. That family tree? It stops at John Blackwell, but I found my family's book of shadows. You're John Blackwell's daughter, and you have dark magic."
Evie:
"You little snake, you'll pay for that," the guy snarled. His head was bleeding like mine, the blood dripping from his eyebrow over his blue eyes. He was tall, with olive toned skin and dark brown to grayish hair.
"Not as much as you'll pay for abducting me," I responded. I kept fighting him, trying to get away. I was right at the bridge, all I needed was to be let go. I tried to reach for the knife I had put in the waistband of my skirt, but I couldn't. His arms were locking mine in place.
"Let her go!"
I looked up, my friends ran towards us. Jake had shouted, and they stopped at the other end of the bridge. The guy took the knife from me, holding it at my throat."Nice work Jake," he chuckled. "You just handed me what I wanted."
"Go ahead," Cassie said. "Take me. But let her go."
"I think not. You see, this little witch can do standalone magic, just like you," he said.
"How?" Cassie asked.
"Dark magic," he whispered loud enough for everyone to hear, and then cackled like the evil witch from Wizards of Oz.
"But only Cassie has dark magic," Adam said.
"Wrong. You see, Jake has been meddling around for me. And he's discovered little miss Greene or Chamberlain over here has dark magic too."
"Jake?" I asked, confused why this guy was talking about him.
"Oh, do tell her Jake," Faye said with a cold voice.
"I work for Isaac. I'm a witch hunter."
My heart sank. He was with them all along. He betrayed us, he tricked us."But why?" I asked, hurt in my eyes.
"Witches killed my parents, but Evie I never wanted to hurt you." He then looked at Isaac with a death stare. "In fact, I wanted to leave."
