A little over three weeks went by of Howard, my team and I working on the machine. Somehow, we had done enough late nights that we were already over halfway done. In that amount of time, I hadn't really run into doctor Erskine, and when I did it was just so a question could be answered before we had to rush away to do our jobs, meaning I hadn't found out who any of our possible subjects could be.

Thankfully, Agent Peggy Carter and I were going to be working with the new recruits, starting tomorrow, so I would see them then.

I was also just excited to kick some little boys' asses.

~~

Peggy and I were currently outside the base of the army's testing area to take our first look at the recruits. We walked towards the line of them, quietly talking amongst ourselves.

"Attention, recruits!" Peggy yelled. All the soldiers quickly stopped talking and went to attention. "Gentlemen, I am Agent Carter. I supervise all operations for this division."

"What's with the accent, Queen Victoria?" One of the recruits cut her off. "I thought I was signing up for the U.S. Army."

"What's your name, soldier?"

"Gilmore Hodge, your Majesty."

"Step forward, Hodge," Peggy instructed. I crossed my arms watching everything unfold behind her.

Hodge took a few steps forward as ordered.

"Put your right foot forward." She continued.

"Mmm... We gonna wrassle?" Hodge asked as one of our assistants was handing out some paperwork for the boys. "Cause I got a few moves I know you'll like." Right when he finished, Peggy socked him in the face. Hard. This caused him to completely fall to the ground.

"Stand up soldier. We're not done with your sorry ass yet." I ordered. Reluctantly, he stood back up but didn't go back to his spot in line yet.

"And who are you, lady?"

"I am Agent Olivia Stark. And before you ask, yes. I am related to Howard Stark. I am the person that helped create the machine that may one day make one of you the best soldier the world has ever seen. You want to be a part of history here, you have to get my approval along with Colonel Phillips and one of our head Doctors'." I said, eyeing the lineup, checking all of them out.

"But that will not happen, Hodge, if you do not follow our orders. Or worse. Disrespect women. So if I even catch a whiff of you doing something like that again I will not only personally deal with you like Agent Carter here did, but I will also have you forcibly removed from this project. If I'm lucky and your not, then maybe even the Army."

"You can't do that!" Hoge yelled.

"Actually, she can." Colonel Phillips yelled, getting out of his vehicle. "Get back in line soldier till someone comes tells you what to do."

"Yes, sir!" Hoge deepened his voice as he spoke, blood slowly pouring out of his nose still from Peggy.

"At this point, whatever Agent Stark says, goes. She probably mentioned how she created the tin box that will make one of you a super soldier, but what she probably failed to mention was that she will become one as well." I stood a little straighter as I felt everyone's eyes on me.

"Because she is our head engineer, one of our best agents, our new ginny pig, and a Stark, she has enough power to do almost anything she wants. That includes kicking your ass out of the military."

The Colonel paused for a moment, letting everyone soak that information in before continuing.

"General Patton has said that wars are fought with weapons, but they are won by men. We are going to win this war because we have the best... men." When he paused to get a better look at the smallest of the group, I gave a small cough. "And women" Phillips added, rolling his eyes.
