It had been close to a month since I had last seen everyone. Nothing too exciting had been happening here at SHIELD until today when we got a visit from an out-of-towner.

"Stand down, people. We're all good here. Go back to work." I told the armed Agents, each of them holding their guns out to fire at whatever came out of the giant light show in front of us. "This one's ours."

A moment later, the light show ended, showing the God of Thunder that I had gotten so close to in such a short time.

"Thor!" I cheered, walking up to the god as the surrounding agents either continued to gawk at the Asgardian or went back to work. "What are you doing here?"

"Lady Stark!" Thor cheered back, pulling me into a bone-crushing hug. "I have come to talk to the man of Fury. Would you please lead me to him?"

"Sure." I nodded, starting to walk back inside. "Can I ask what you need to talk to him about?"

"It is about my brother. My father has decided on a punishment for him, though it is needed to be discussed with the Director before anything can happen." Thor followed me through the halls, any agents that we passed staring at the giant man behind me.

"Well, definitely sounds like something Fury should know about. Here we are." I nodded to Nick's door, knocking on it a couple of times before opening it and letting ourselves in. "Fury, we have a visitor."

The two of us walked in, Thor having to duck just a little bit to fit through the door.

"Ah, Mr. Odinson. I was wondering why my agents have stopped their work to chit-chat. Have a seat. Stark, shut the door, please."

I did as Fury said, shutting the door behind Thor as he went to sit in front of his desk. I walked over to the men and stood behind Thor, leaning on the wall behind me.

"So, Thor, to what do we owe this pleasure? How's your brother?"

"Loki is doing... as well as he can. He is actually what I have come to discuss."

"Apparently it's about his punishment." I chimed in, knowing how Nick probably didn't like how Thor began to tiptoe around the conversation.

"What about it." Fury narrowed his eye at the god.

"My father has come up with what he thinks is a suitable punishment for my brother. He believes that part of what will help Loki take responsibility for his actions is to have him come here, to Midgard, and help the people he tried to take over." Thor said, somehow all in one breath.

"And you think this to be a good idea?" Fury questioned.

"I believe my brother needs to pay for what he has done, and bringing him here will hopefully help him make up for his mistakes. The Loki I knew would have never done this. He lost himself over the years because of some hardships in his life, but I believe the Loki I once knew can come back. He just needs a chance."

"What hardships are we talking about?"

"I do not think it to be my place to say. It is Loki's past, not mine."

"You want the guy who tried to take over New York to come and work with our guys. I think we deserve some kind of explanation." I said, moving away from the wall and towards the desk, sitting on the side of it and facing Thor.

The god looked towards the ground, letting out a long sigh.

"I will not say much, as it is not my story. What I will say, however, is that my brother lost someone very dear to him, causing him to lose a part of himself. He was never the same after their death. Much later, Loki found out he was adopted, taken from Jotunheim when he was just a babe as a bargaining chip between our two realms. When he discovered this, he believed he was truly unwanted by our family, falling into a rage I cannot begin to describe.

"He felt betrayed as if his whole life was a lie. He felt as if the only person who could have truly been there for him was gone. Of course, I would have been there for Loki, but all of this happened during my banishment."

"When you came to New Mexico." I nodded.

"Correct. When I was able to return to Asgard, my brother was attempting to destroy Jotunheim, in hopes of making our father proud."

"So we're not the first planet he's tried to destroy? What happened to Jotunheim?" Fury leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Realm." Thor corrected. "And my father was able to put a stop to its destruction before it was too late. Afterward, I destroyed the Rainbow Bridge that connects Asgard to the Bifrost, during which Loki fell to what we all thought to be his death."

"Wow," I said, not even being able to understand how all of that could happen in such a short period of time.

"Who was this mystery person your brother lost? Must have been someone important enough for him to lose his mind." Fury commented.

"I do not believe it is my place to say. They are gone now, so it is of no large matter anymore." Thor looked sad as he said this.

"You were close to them too, weren't you?" I put the pieces together.

"Indeed, they became another sibling of mine. I loved them dearly."
