The party was now in full swing. Thor had stolen the group of WWll vets from Steve and me, so we've been hanging out with Sam, who had arrived shortly after, currently playing pool.
And I kicked their asses.
"Sounds like a hell of a fight. Sorry I missed it." Sam told us. Steve had just finished telling him about our battle with Strucker and the twins, the three of us making our way to the floor's upper level.
"If I had known it was gonna be a firefight, I absolutely would have called." Steve defended himself.
"No, no. I'm not actually sorry. I'm just trying to sound tough. I'm very happy chasing cold leads on our missing person's case. Avenging is your world. Your world is crazy."
"You have no idea," I mumbled, leaning against the railing in front of us.
"Be it ever so humble."
"You find a place in Brooklyn yet?"
"I don't think I can afford a place in Brooklyn," Steve told Sam.
"Well, home is home, you know?"
"And Steph, I told you I would happily pay for your place. Just point to which one you want and it's yours!" I threw my hands in the air in exasperation."Oliv, I'm not taking advantage of you like that." Steve frowned.
"It's not taking advantage if I'm offering! At this point, I've been thinking of secretly getting you a place and then throwing the keys in your face. A "no take backsies situation" if you will." I smirked, making Sam laugh and Steve roll his eyes.
"Now, let's go find Thor. I would like to get somewhat tipsy with that Asgardian shit he brought with him."
~~
"I gotta have some of that." Some of the WWll vets had overheard Steve and I's conversation with Thor about his liquor and had butted into the conversation.
"Oh, no, no, no." Thor started to argue, pouring Steve and me a small glass each. "See this... This was ages for 1,000 years in the barrels built from the wreck of Grunhel's fleet. It is not meant for mortal men."
"Neither was Omaha Beach, blondie. Stop trying to scare us. Come on." Stan, one of the vets, urged.
Steve and I both smirked at Thor, watching as he shrugged and poured a bit of the liquid into the old man's glass.
Barely a minute later, he and the rest of his friends were completely incapacitated in some way.

"You're seeing this too, right?" I asked Avery. The brunette furrowed her brows in confusion, looking in the direction my attention was in and seeing Natasha flirting with Bruce at the bar.
"Oh my god." She chuckled.
"You go talk to Red, I'll go talk to Doc?"
"You got it." She smirked, walking after Natasha.
"Well, that was nice," I smirked, walking up to Bruce at the bar.
"What, what, what is?" Bruce stammered.
"You and Romanoff." I nodded back.
"No, we haven't... That wasn't..."
"It's okay," I chuckled, stopping the man's rambling. "Not like anyone's breaking any bylaws. It's just, Nat's not the most open person in the world. She seems very relaxed with you, though."
"No. Natasha, she's just... She likes to flirt.""I've seen her flirt, up close," I smirked, reaching over the bar and grabbing a bar. "That wasn't it."
Bruce scoffed at my words, moving with me as I walked closer to the man.
