"Over here guys!" Robin said as she jogged through the trees (now in her human form). Steve and the others followed behind her. It was a couple more minutes when they found the building Robin was leading them too.
"Ta-da!" She said, shooting her arms out in front of her, "Told you guys I would find it again!"
"Now that's a perfect hideout." Steve said while they all hurried along. They walked into the building and found the others hard at work. The place looked almost spotless. The ceiling and floor were being sweep up by Nancy and Lucas, Dustin was getting all the rats and bugs out by talking to them, Jonathan was trying to fix the windows with a new toolbox full of tools and a shard of glass, and Will was drawing something for the building to become more homely.
"Hey guys! We're back!" Robin cheered out. Everyone turned to look at them. Nancy dropped her broom to the side before storming towards them, a glare of anger beaming in her eyes.
"Where have you've been? We were worried sick. It's almost night time!" Nancy told them as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Sorry, but Robin got us lost." Steve explained.
"I accidentally made a left instead of a right, and you guys can't let it go." Robin mumbled as she walked over to Will, looking over his shoulder.
"Well, it's good you're finally back. Now you guys can help---" Nancy started when Will cut in.
"I finished it." Will said as he stood from his seat and walked over to show Nancy his work.
"Excellent, Will, thank you." Nancy told him while leading him over to the other side of the building, "So do you guys want the kitchen back here...and then have a dining hall right here... and a small living room area in this direction... then..."
"Hey!" Billy called out, "Why don't we get the fridge up, so we can put this food away? It's melting in our hands and it will go bad if we kept out for much longer."
Nancy shot Billy a glare, but didn't say anything. She motioned for Will where she wanted the fridge before he set his notebook down then proceeded to slowly pull it off the page. It grew bigger and bigger before it finally was a full-grown fridge. As Will picked up his notebook, Steve and Billy hurried and shoved the food inside the fridge.
"Where did you get frozen stuff in the middle of the woods?" Nancy asked just as Steve shut the freezer.
"Well-- we actually found this building selling food and we sort of-- took some for us." Steve explained to her. Her eyes widened.
"Building? Selling food? Wait! Were there people?" She asked, her face twisted up in concern.
"Calm down Nance," Steve told her, gently putting his hands on her shoulders, "I assure you, no one saw us. And the the kids were nowhere near the building. Eddie watched over them."
"Eddie? You thought it was a good idea to let Eddie watch those kids? He's as much a child as they are."
"HEY!" Eddie said. Nancy turned to look at Eddie.
"Am I wrong?" she asked, glaring at him. Eddie tilted his head before turning around to head towards Dustin. She returned her gaze over to Steve, who was now rubbing her shoulders to try and relax her.
"Nancy, I swear, we took every precaution we could think of. And as you can see, we're alright. No one was hurt." Steve assured her. Nancy stared him down for a bit before shaking her head.
"Okay-- Will lets finish getting everything set up." Nancy told him as she gently wrapped her arm around Will's shoulders and lead him around Steve as they proceeded to set up important equipment. Steve turned to try and figure out what he needed to do when he came face to face with Dustin, who was holding a large fuzzy rat in the palms of his hands.
"Can I keep him?" Dustin asked him. Steve's eyes widened.
"No! No, you can't keep him!" Steve told Dustin, who began giving a pouty face.
"Why not?" Dustin asked.
"Because you already have a rodent for a pet. And he's right over there." Steve said, pointing at Eddie. Eddie turned around, shooting a glare right at Steve.
"Uh-- bats are mammals, Steve." Eddie corrected him.
"Yeah then why do they look like Rats with wings?" Steve asked him. Eddie proceeded to storm over when Nancy stormed in between them.
"No fighting, guys! I know we're on edge, but we need to keep our heads. We are still being hunted and if we go for each other's throats, we will be caught." Nancy growled at them. Eddie turned back around as he proceeded to help with Mike and El, who were helping Jonathan with fixing the window. Nancy shot a glare over at Steve.
"Did you really needed to say that? You know Eddie looks and acts tough but he's just as sensitive as Will." Nancy grumbled at Steve, who shook his head.
"I was just trying to explain to Dustin why he couldn't keep the rat?" Steve said, motioning towards Dustin, who was still holding onto the rat. Nancy rolled her eyes as she bent her legs so she was eye-leveled with Dustin.
"Dustin, you know Rats are social creatures and always like to stick together. You take this one, he's going to grow depress because he misses his family. And I know you don't want to make him suffer like that do you?" she asked him. Dustin's head dropped.
"No, I don't."
"Alright, let him go outside." Nancy told him, lightly patting his head. Dustin proceeded to slump his way towards the exit while Nancy stood up and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Okay, you did it better." Steve grumbled under his breath.
"Thank you. Now why don't you and Billy start getting the food ready. Will and I will get bedrooms sorted out." Nancy told him while she turned on her heel and headed over to Will as they proceeded to continue making this place feel like home.
