Hopper's eyes fluttered opened as he felt himself being dragged across the floor. From the corner of his eyes, he could see himself being dragged down a white hall and towards a room. As they opened the door, Hopper was thrown into it before the guards shut the door behind him. He groaned while he tried to sit up. 

"HOP!" He darted his eyes to see Joyce sitting on the edge of the wall... and so were the others. 

"Hop, they have the children!" Claudia screamed at them. 

"They took Holly!" Karen cried out. 

"And Erica!" Sue whimpered. 

"What are they going to do with us?" Charles asked. 

"I'm not sure." He groaned while he tried to push himself up into a sitting position; however, he collapse down onto the ground. 

"What are they going to do with the kids?" Susan asked. Before anyone could say anything else, the door opened. They watched as Dr. Brenner and a couple of guards standing behind him. 

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen." He said to them as he sat down in the chair in front of them. 

"Who are you?" Karen asked, "Where are the children? What have you done to them?" 

 "Holly and Erica are in our Rainbow Room. As for the  other children, they are safe in their rooms. They are back where they rightfully belong." Dr. Brenner told them. 

"Back to their own personal hell, you mean! They told us the crap you do to them!" Joyce shouted at him. 

"We are merely trying to help them full-fill their potential." 

"By having them attack each other? Will told me and Hopper how you had Max almost burn Billy  to a crisp then punished her for not continuing it." Joyce asked him. Dr. Brenner sat there in silence for a bit, probably thinking of something to say. 

"You do not understand what we are trying to accomplish here. We are trying to have the children help us find the Soviets..." 

"Do you hear yourself?" Hopper asked him, "Do you not hear the crap you are saying? They are kids! They need to be doing kid things!" 

"They are not regular kids. They are mutants with gifts we are trying to comprehend." 

"They are still children." Claudia shot at him. 

"Really? Is that what you call what happen today at the theater when Billy almost killed those two teenagers?" Dr. Brenner asked. 

"Oh, come on! Any one of us would have done the same thing if we were in his shoes. If I had been the one to find them spraying those insults to those kids, I would have pulled my gun on them." Hopper argued. 

"Never the less..." Dr. Brenner started when the door opened to reveal a scientist, "What is it?" 

"The guards watching the two young kids in the Rainbow Room wondered if you are done with the parents yet. They say the girl in pigtails is being very mean and is calling everyone names." she said to them. Slowly everyone turned towards Sue and Charles, knowing full well they were talking about Erica. 

"I would be mad at her for being mean, but given the fact you kidnapped us and are probably doing unspeakable horrors to the other children, we'll give her a free pass." Charles stated while Sue nodded her head. 

"Also there is some issues with the gate as well, sir--" 

"Gate? That's where the creature came out of, isn't it?" Hopper asked. Dr. Brenner shot at glare towards him. 

"How do you know about that?" 

"Because you idiot, it's been running around town attacking people. It tried to get El and Will as well." Hopper shot at him, "And we are trying to get rid of it since you all are clearly not doing anything." 

"We are handling it." Dr. Brenner said. 

"Really? Because from where I am sitting, you are not doing a great job." Ted shot at them. Dr. Brenner narrowed his eyes. 

"We are taking care of it. My men are right now prepping some of the children to handle what is within the gate as we speak." Dr. Brenner stated. Their eyes widened. 

"You're going to send those kids in there?" Susan asked, horrified at the mere thought. 

"That is insane!" Joyce shouted at them. 

"Weren't you two about to come to the lab with the kids to deal with the gate as well?" He asked them pointing at Hopper and Joyce. 

"To close the gate, not go inside it, you moron! So we wouldn't have to deal with that monster anymore."  Hopper spat at him. 

"We are on the brink of a discovery worth exploring and you want to get rid of it?" Dr. Brenner asked. 

"Yes!" they all screamed. 

"Perhaps there are some things not worth exploring! Especially if it is going to risk someone's life in order to figure it out." Claudia shouted at him. Dr. Brenner shook his head while standing up from his seat. 

"I'm sorry you all do not seem to understand the magnitude of this discovery." He said while he began to make his way towards the door. 

"Hey! What are you going to do to us?" Hopper asked them. Dr. Brenner turned around. 

"You shall be dealt with shortly, but right now I have other more important things to deal with." he said while existing the room.
