"What is this all about, Hopper? We have work in the morning." Ted asked while they were standing around, trying to stay alert (which was easier said than done). Ted was sitting in one of the booth with his wife, Karen, who was holding their younger daughter, Holly. Sitting across from them was Charles and his wife, Sue, who was trying to handle an upset Erica that was complaining about not getting enough beauty sleep. Beside them was Claudia Henderson, who was fixing the curlers in her hair to make sure none were out of place, and Susan Mayfield, who was yawning and mumbling about having to work earlier tomorrow.

"I wouldn't have called you guys here if it wasn't important, but we have a situation." Hopper explained.

"What kind of situation?" Karen asked while she calmly petted Holly's head.

"There are twelve missing kids, but they are special kids--"

"Of course, they are." Erica mumbled under her breath before getting a light slap on the shoulder from her mother.

"What I mean is-- these kids, can do things that are suppose to only happen in comic books. And these scientists are involved and trying to kidnap these kids again to experiment on them so they can be used for weapons." Hopper claimed to them.

"Kids as weapons? What kind of psychos would do that?" Karen asked.

"Am I the only one stuck on the part where it's twelve kids they kidnapped and are experimenting on?" Claudia asked.

"What about their parents? Where are they? And how could they let this happen to their own kids?" Susan questioned.

"I don't know about any of that, but the whole point of this meeting is, I wanted to ask you guys if you could house a few of them and pretend they are relatives?" Hopper asked them. The parents'  eyes widened as they began to mumble amongst themselves; mostly discussing about the dangers of housing people who were being hunted down by people on top of them having powers.

"I understand why you may not want to go forward with this. I would be having thoughts myself, but it's the only way to ensure they are taken care of and so they don't have to be tormented by them any longer." Hopper explained to them.

"But what would happen if those scientists find us with them and tried to take them away even using force to take them away from us?" Claudia asked him.

"I'm sure we'll figure it out when it happens--" Hopper explained.

"We don't want to put our kids," Charles cut in, lightly patting Erica's shoulder.

"I understand--"

"But we can't turn down these kids," Karen pointed out to them, "They could be young children, we're talking about here."

"I'm not entirely sure how many are young, but I do know one is a young boy and another is a teen girl. I've met Will and Joyce met Robin." Hopper claimed.

"Where is Joyce?" Claudia asked.

"Will is showing her where the others are located so we could help them out." Hopper declared to them, "I just want you guys to meet the kids for a moment. If you guys don't want to house them-- then can you all agree to help me protect these kids."

"What if they don't want to live with us?" Susan asked.

"We'll rearrange the plan then if that happens." Hopper answered her. Before anyone could ask another question, the front door of the diner open. Hopper turned to find Joyce with three boys and one girl. The parents stood up from their booths, Ted and Charles moving their kids behind them.

"Hi, guys... um... these are some of the missing kids..." Joyce said, nervously.

"Where's Will?" Hopper asked.

"Um--- Will is with the other kids-- they wanted to make sure the young ones are in a safe place." Joyce explained to them, "Uh-- this is Billy, the one who's holding the back of my coat... this one over here is Steve... the one next to him is Eddie and this is Robin."

The parents and Hopper waved their hands at the teens, nervously.

"Do you mind letting go of my wife?" Hopper asked Billy, who was glaring Hopper down. Steve leaned over to Billy, whispering something in his ears. Billy rolled his eyes before letting go of Joyce's coat. Joyce carefully walked over to Hopper as she stood beside him.

"We heard you wanted to help us out of our-- situation?" Billy asked, crossing his arms over his chest.

"We just wanted to help you guys so you didn't have to deal with the scientists all by yourselves." Hopper explained.

"Oh, now you guys want to help? Weren't much help the years we've been rotting in that hellhole? Didn't come out to help us? The lab is just a few miles away from town, could have come up any time to help. But you didn't." Billy shot at them. Steve roughly elbowed Billy in his side, earning a glare from Billy as Billy rubbed his side.

"What Billy was trying to ask is exactly how do you guys plan to do that?" Steve asked them.

"We figured, if we're all up to it. You guys could break into small groups and move into their houses and pretend to be their relatives." Hopper stated to them. Billy's eyes widened as he glared at them all.

"You want us to separate from each other and trust that none of you would turn us into the scientists for some reward money? How dumb do you guys think we are?" Billy asked them; his hands turning into fists.

"I know we're asking you guys to do something very difficult because so far in life you've been let down by pretty much everyone, but we need you guys to trust that we have good intent for you all." Hopper pleaded with them. The four of them gazed at each other before huddling in a group and proceeded to discuss it with each other.
