"SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!" Dustin screamed while the creature came rushing in their direction. It was a complete shitshow. Everyone was cussing and screaming  and some crying from Holly as panic consumed them all. The guards had turned their weapons from the kids' directions and aim it at the creature. However, the creature did not seem fazed (though it sounded like it was shrieking in pain) by the bullets piercing its skin. It began tearing the guards to shreds with both its teeth and claws before tossing the remains off to the side then moving to another one. 

Karen covered Holly's eyes, which were drenched in tears, while trying to direct the kids away from the creature. They hurried down the hallway without looking behind them, hoping the creature would be distracted by the guards to bother with them. They hurried down a couple corners, hoping to avoid provide distance from them when--

"In here!" someone shouted. 

They hurried towards the voice and hurried into a room. The door slammed shut behind them and locked. The room they were in appeared like a prison's medic room with its dull gray walls and equipment for helping with medical situations and beds. Susan, Ted, and Charles set down Nancy, Max and Lucas onto some of the beds as they hurried around to try and see if they could find any equipment to use to help them in any way. 

As Karen pulled Holly into her arms, rocking her back and forth to try and calm her down, she turned to see Joyce walking up to her. 

"JOYCE! Thank God you're safe!  Are the kids alright? Where are they? Where's Hopper?" Karen asked while she darted her eyes around, wondering if she had missed them by chance. Joyce had a distorted look like she didn't even know how to start. 

"Hopper, Will and El are still in the other world. I--I had to come back--" Joyce said while her face turned into the direction to the bed closest to the door. Their eyes drifted over to find Billy draped over it, unconscious, as he was wrapped almost head to toe in bandages. 

Karen held onto the back of Holly's head so she didn't have to see Billy while everyone began to huddle around Billy's bed. Steve, Eddie, and Dustin were cursing under their breaths as some of the other moms had their hands pressed up to their mouths or chest in shock while the dads stared horrified to know what had caused Billy's bruises. 

"What happened? Is he alright?" Sue asked while she tried to shift Erica's gaze away; however, Erica made it difficult (mostly not intended as she was frozen to her stance from the shock of seeing Billy like this). 

"It was that creature! It attacked him while he tried to protect Will and El. Hopper had to go after them because something else attacked Will and El... but I had to bring Billy back... or else... or else..." Joyce mumbled still shaking because she was worried about what was happening with Hopper and the kids in that horrible world, "Oh! It was awful! It-- Oh my God! It was Hawkins!" 

"What?" Ted asked. 

"Hawkins! It was our town... but it wasn't at the same time. It was almost like this horrible, shadowy-world, apocalyptic version of our home!" Joyce told them. 

"What do you think it means?" Charles asked. 

"The Vale of Shadows..." 

Everyone turned towards Dustin, who had mumbled it. 

"The what?" 

"It's a name of a realm in DnD. It's a copy of our realm that is parallel to our own but we don't see it and its home to all kinds of monsters. " Dustin explained. 

"Kind of like, our own world... but upside down." Eddie tried to explain better. Before anyone could say another word, the air filled with a high-pitched scream coming from Holly. 

"Holly! Holly, what--" Karen started when she turned around just in time to see Dr. Brenner's body being slammed against the door. Everyone scurried as far back as they could (Karen covering Holly's ears and eyes) as they watched in horror as the monster began attack Dr. Brenner, slamming him repeatedly against the door as his screamed echoed from behind it. The last thing they saw was Dr. Brenner's head behind dragged down... then a splatter of blood squirting against the glass window of the door.
