Billy groaned while his eyes fluttered opened. He felt a sense of fear and dread come over him when he recognized the sight of his old room. Shit, he thought as he shot up from his bed.  He rushed down  towards the table as he slammed his fists against the door, trying to break it down. Just as he was about to punch the door again, it flung open. He stumbled out of it and into the arms of a couple of guards as they hurried to wrap his arms behind his back while they hook up a shock collar around his neck.

"3 is secured." one of the guards said through their mic.

"Bring him down." Dr. Brenner's voice echoed from the device. Billy struggled as best as he could; however, the guards were able to keep a good grip on him as they drag him down the hallway and into the elevator. Billy continued pulling away at their grip, trying to break their hold. The doors opened and the guards dragged him across the hallway before turning into a pair of double doors. As they were going down the hallway, his eyes widened in horror as they passed rooms with glass doors with his friends inside.

The first room consisted of Steve, who was struggling to free his hands from the chains that held him to the floor. His eyes were wrapped in an iron ring so he couldn't use his ability on them. The next room had Nancy. She was strapped on a gurney-like bed with her head trapped in a weird device with beeping colorful lights. She squirmed underneath the straps as she whimpered, clearly in pain from whatever the device was doing to her. The third one had Eddie, who was in his multiple bat form, and Robin trying to search for a way to escape their room.  However, every time they got too close to the glass door a large spark of  electricity at them. The forth room had Jonathan, who had his hands and arms handcuffed with large metal cuffs so he would not be able to use his hands.

The Fifth room had Dustin, who was crouched in the corner weeping into his knees clearly feeling defenseless about the whole thing. The sixth room had Lucas. The walls were covered with numerous space-heaters beaming intense heat. He was laying on the ground, drenched completely in sweat, his chest heaving up and down as he breath heavily. Billy could even see parts of his skin melting away due to the intense heat. The seventh room had Max. Instead of heat-spacers, the room was filled with vents pouring out intense freezing air (he could tell by the sight of frost forming on the edges of the window). She was shivering violently; her arms and legs pressed up against her body as she was trying to keep herself warm. Her skin had paled and her quivering lips were tinted a faint blue.

"Max!" He screamed. Max could barely lift her head just as the guards dragged him past the room. The next room was empty. Clearly Mike was embarrassed at the thought of being caught again and did not want to been pouting. However, he couldn't see a room where El or Will were placed. Billy was soon brought over to the center of the lab. He could see a large opening in the wall, which glowed a bright red with black vines crawled out and around the edges. Flakes of blue floated in the air as the stench of decay filled his nostrils. Without any warning, Billy was tossed carelessly through another pair of doors where he landed face first against the floor.

"Billy!"

He looked up to see El and Will walking towards him as they began helping him up into a sitting position. His handcuff unlocked and collapsed to the floor as the doors became air-tight. He rubbed his wrists before looking between El and Will.

"You two alright?" He asked while pushing himself up onto his feet. Before they could answer, a static sound echoed through the air followed by...

"Good evening, 3."

Billy felt his skin crawl as his head shot around until his eyes landed directly towards the speaker overhead.

"I have a task I need for you, 11 and 12 to do." Dr. Brenner spoke again, "I require you three to go out into the void--"

"Like hell we will!" Billy screamed at the speaker. Without warning, he felt a shockwave rushing through his body, causing him to collapse onto the ground again (the kids screaming at the top of their lungs). It felt like an hour had past before the collar stopped shooting electricity against his skin. He panted as his chest heaved up and down rapidly.

"Like I was saying, 3, I require you three to go out into the void to explore what is on the other side. And as you have experience beforehand what will happen if you do not comply, I figure you neither three of you will refuse." Dr. Brenner ordered through the speaker. Billy crawled back to his feet, using the kids as sort of crutches.

He knew if they went into that other world something dangerous would come after them to hurt them or what have you, but the same goes to if they were to stay here and avoid the other world entirely. Billy looked down at the kids as he lightly brushed their heads before he bend down to their level.

"It's going to be alright, guys. I won't let anything happen to you guys." Billy told them.

"What about the monster? What if it finds us?" Will asked him. Billy lightly patted his hand against his shoulder.

"Then that monster has to go through me if it wants you two. And if that happens, make your ways back here. Understand." Billy assured them. Taking hold of their hands, they walked steadily towards the hole in the wall. He took a deep breath before they stepped into the void.
