~again, disclaimer, I have no idea how hospital really work. So if this is incorrect, my bad.
"Hey nurse can I talk to you quickly?" She nods and they step outside. "I'm watching you," she says before closing the door.
"Has he said anything about what happened at all?" She shakes his head. "We were going to get him to see a therapist but we need a signature from a guardian," she explains.
"And when he gets out, someone will have to you know, be there for him," she opens the door and peeks through to make sure he's eating, then closes it again.
"See I'm not sure if you know this, but his parents had died when he was young, so it's going to be a bit hard for us," she chuckles.
"I'll do it," he says without hesitation. She looks at him. "You'll take him in?" She questions, a little skeptical. "Yes. I'll sign those papers too,"
"I'm sorry but who are you to him again?""I coach the volleyball team," he answers. She looks him up at down. She opens the door again, "keep on eating. Don't go anywhere. I'll be back. Follow me," he follows her until they get to some small office like place.
She opens a draw and takes out several papers. "I would like to see some ID before you sign the papers," he takes out his wallet and hands her his license. "It's just as a precaution is all."
She looks between the plastic card and him a few times, then hands it back. "Be my guest. Just know he can be quite a handful," he carefully reads the fine print, and signs at the bottom.
"Hm? Really? Kageyama a handful? Well I mean I coach the team but he's never really been too bad," She laughs. "Oh yeah. I know it doesn't seem like it but that kid man, is quite a shit stirrer," he starts to read the second page.
"Have you looked after him before?"
"Many times. Yes." he finishes signing the rest of the papers then hands them back, she shakes her head and chuckles."There's just several things I should warn you about. First of all, we've started giving him medication to help him sleep. You'll have to force it," he looks at her stunned.
"He will not take it willingly, no matter how much we've tried to convince him, he wouldn't take it. And no matter how much he yells and begs, which he will do, give it to him okay? I know it won't be easy, but you gotta do it," he swallows and nods, not liking the sound of it.
"Secondly, if you can, it's better to give him a room closest to yours, just in case. Thirdly, he's terrified of the dark, getting him a night light would be a good idea. And another good idea, would be to get him some snacks, and put them in some kind of container in the room he'll be staying in, along with a water bottle," Ukai makes a mental checklist to remember these couple of things the nurse is telling him.
The two head back to Room 15, where Kageyama hands the plate back to her. She checks the bin and finds nothing in it. She proceeds to check any other little places in the room.
"Come on Tobio, stand up now," he stands up and she firmly pats him on the stomach, finding it full. He sits back on the bed. "Wow, I'm surprised at you kid. Good job," the nurse reaches for her pocket and pulls out a sticker sheet.
She sticks a good job sticker on his gown and firmly pats it down.
All he does is look at her funny, as if saying 'I'm not a child'. Then flattens the sticker, to make it flatter.
