Getting Back Home Late

By the time Tobio had finished the coke Takinoue had given him, he looked out the window, the sky isn't a mixture of purples, pinks and orange anymore, instead, it's a dark blue. Daylight had ended and nighttime had arrived.

Pausing the tv, he gets up and walks over to the back porch, tugging on the sleeve of Keishins shirt. "Yeah? What's wrong?" He points the darkness that surrounds them. "We'll be going in a sec, okay?"

Tobio goes back inside, sitting down and un-pausing the tv. The restlessness doesn't leave him. He can't help but fidget, waiting for the coach to come back in and tell him that he gets to go back home. Now that it's nighttime, however, he's not sure if he wants to.

Things go wrong at night. He's seen too many horror movies and experienced it firsthand, things just don't go right at night, not in his case anyway.

So, Kageyama sits here and waits. Even though he had napped earlier, he found himself growing tired. His eyes became itchy and is now and yawn after yawn left his mouth.

Tobio forces himself to stay awake. For one, he's in someone else's house and not at home, two coach could come inside at any moment to tell them that they're going, and three just because he feels safe in this house, doesn't mean that he is.

The creature will take anyone, without any warning and leave them in the forest, for what purpose? He still doesn't know. It's stalking him, it could choose to snatch him up at any time and take him back, he's not about to risk that any time soon. Once was enough, and twice had been unnecessary. He's not sure what would happen if it chose to take him again, if he let his guard down for a moment.

But his eyes are so itchy, the couch is comfortable, and the peaceful atmosphere isn't helping. Just for a moment, he'll close his eyes just for a moment. He curled up on the corner of the couch, putting an arm on the armrest and using it as a pillow.

Keishin downed the last of his beer, set the cigarette butt in the ash tray and checked the time on his phone, 9:38 p.m. it read. "Ah shit." He curses. "We gotta go, catch ya later." He says, quickly heading towards the couch, where Tobio lay curled up, peacefully sleeping. Takeda elbows him in the ribs. "Ow!" Takeda only glares at him. "Yeah, I know we should've left sooner., okay?"

He looks down at the teenager fondly, before leaning down and shaking him gently until he wakes. He rubs his eyes, clearing his vision. He looks up at him questioningly. "Yes, we're going, come on." He scoops the homework up on the desk and puts it in his bag for him, swinging it on a shoulder so he doesn't have to carry it.

All he has to do is put his shoes back on, which he does once they get to the front door. It's dark, so very dark. He hadn't noticed that is hands turned into fists, Ittetsu and Keishin did though. Takeda glared at him as he unlocked the car, hopping into the driver's seat. Ukai hopped in the back seat next to Tobio.

"You okay, kid?" He asks quietly. Tobio rests his head on his shoulder, nodding, hands still balled into fists, breathing a little unsteady, looking at the floor. "I'm sorry, I know we should have left earlier." He apologises.

Much to Tobios relief, they make it back home without any incident, hoping to never do that again.

He goes for a shower without saying anything, wanting to get the school germs off and into clean clothes. Unfortunately, the shower woke him up, and he no longer wants to go to sleep. Takeda still makes him take his medication, like every night.

Tobio sits quietly in the office, sitting on a beanbag with Mene on his lap, purring quietly. Someone opens the door, is coach. "Ooh there you are." He says like he'd been looking for him. "Watcha doing?" He sits down on the office chair, spinning around to face him. The first thing he notices is that he's in a shirt and shorts, his scars noticeable.

"How was school?"
It was okay.
"You only did half a day right? Specs mentioned you talked to the councilor. how'd you find her? Is she nice?"
Yeah, she's cool. I fell asleep in the back room.
"Speaking of sleep, is there a reason why you're not in your room?"

I don't feel safe anywhere. I haven't felt safe in a long time. I'm scared it's going to take me again.
"Can you think of any way we could help you make you feel safer? Did Yusuke's house make you feel safe?"
On some level, yes, but I know I never really am.
"What do you mean?"
He can take your whenever you want, without any warning. You'll disappear from the world without a trace, wondering if you'll ever see it again.
"Being around other people make you feel safe right?"
Kind of, depends on who though.
"What about the team? When the first years come over, that made you feel better right? Or when you sleep in our room."
Yes, but I shouldn't rely on others so much.

Coach Ukai wheels the chair forward and gently grabs his face. "You, listen to me very carefully, okay?" He nods. "It is not weak to ask for help. You are a teenager, a child. There is nothing wrong with it, especially after what you've been through. And I'm sure they like spending time with you anyway, no doubt the others are going to want to spend the night sometime as well." He says, getting a little sidetracked.

"Tobio, the point is, I'd rather you feel safe, than thinking something bas is going to happen to you again. All you have to do is ask us." Ukai takes his hands away from his face, done with what he had to say.

'I was planning on going to bed, you won't be up much longer, right?" He shakes his head. "Alright then. Goodnight, and wake us up if something's wrong." Tobio puts the cat down then stands to give him a hug, squeezing tightly.

Keishin smiles and returns it, before heading off to his room. Ittetsu is already there, lying still on his side. Ukai slips in next to him, putting an arm around him. Takeda smacks it away.  He tries again, the same thing happens. He tries once more, where again, he's smacked away.

"Okay, what's wrong?"
"Gee, I don't know." He snaps back. "Are you mad because I stayed later then we should've?" He gets a huff as an answer. "Look I'm sorry. I already apologised to him; he said it was fine."
"I don't care. We should have left when he wanted to." Takeda said in a snappish tone.

"Any way I can make it up to you?" Keishin asks, snaking a way down to Ittetsus crotch. "Don't even think about it."
