2:38am was when scratching could be heard at the bedroom door.

Tobio was the first to wake up, frozen on the spot, staring at the door.

Keishin woke up several seconds later, looking over at Kageyama's.

"Tobio?" He asks in a groggy voice. "What's the matter?" The noise at the door hits him only a second later.

"Ittetsu," Ukai whispers hurriedly, shaking him awake. "What? Keishin what the fuck let me sleep," he groans, hitting him and rolling over, facing the opposite direction.

"No you bastard get up. There's something at the door, go check it out." Now he sits up. "What? Why do I have to?"
"Because I don't want to."
"Well I don't want to either!" He argues back.

He glanced over at Kageyama, who's gripping onto Ukai's shirt tightly.

Sighing, Takeda gets up. Tobio shakes his head and grabs onto his shirt.

The thing from outside starts shrieking and wailing like a baby, getting louder and louder.

"What the fuck?" Coach whispers, getting up to go and see what had ruined his slumber.

Opening it, he sees a fluffy white cat looking up at him, walking inside and giving a soft meow, running up into Tobio's lap.

"Holy shit," Keishin says in a tired voice, shutting the door.

Ittetsu was still trying to help Tobio get his breathing and pulse under control. Keishin sat at the edge of the bed, not quite sure on what to do. He's never really been the greatest at calming people down.

Just as he's settled back down, some noise from an animal outside goes off.

Keishin gets up walks over to him. "Can I touch you?" He asks, just to be sure. Once Tobio gives a small nod, he sits behind him, resting a hand on Kageyama's stomach, and starts taking long slow breaths.

"Do you feel that?" Kageyama nods, looking into his lap. "I want you to copy me okay?"

Kageyama does as he's asked by copying his breathing. He takes a long slow breath in, watching his stomach expand, holding for five seconds then slowly letting it out.

Several minutes go by when Tobio has calmed down. "You okay now?" Kageyama gives a half nod, feeling bad.

It's the middle of the night and he just had to be a crybaby didn't he? He could've slept on the perfectly good room they had given him, but no. Keishin and Ittetsu would have been perfectly asleep and getting a decent sleep, if it weren't for him.

He tries to act like those thoughts aren't bothering him, but it must've shown.

"What's wrong?" Takeda asks, both already suspecting what it is. Tobio shakes his head, looking off to the side."Is it because you feel guilty?" Damn him. Damn him and his observation.

Yes. Do you think I'm a crybaby?

"What? No of course not!"

Why not?

"Because your emotions are valid. You're allowed to be emotional. Tobio you've been through a lot, you're allowed to let it out and cry whenever you need to. We don't think any less of you no matter how many times you cry, okay?"

Takeda leans over and gives him a hug.

Keishin left the room and came back a minute later with the melatonin. Tobio sticks his tongue out, then swallows the medication.

Ukai is now by the light switch, ready to turn it off, turning the light off and using the torch on his phone to find his way back to bed.

He cuddles you against Takeda, like he does ever night, and falls back asleep.

While Tobio is in his side, facing away from them with the cat purring gently into him. The vibrations making him feel safe and getting him back to sleep.
