Tobio opened his eyes. His vision is a little blurry and some heavy blanket is over hm. He doesn't remember grabbing any blankets. Did he fall asleep? Who put it on him? And what time is it anyway?
He takes the heavy blanket and puts it off to the side, stretching before opening the door. The classroom is deserted, aside from Takeda typing at his desk on his laptop. He looks up, sensing a presence. "Oh, you're awake. How was your nap?" Realising that he left the whiteboard in the room, he goes back in to grab it. It was good.
"Did you want to go to afternoon practice today, or home?" Tobio shrugs. "You want tot go to practice and see how you feel?" He shrugs again. "What's wrong?" Kageyama looks off to the side. "No no, look at me, what wrong?"
Questions.
"Questions?" He thought for a moment. "Oh, you know they're going to ask you about your first day." He nods. "I'm sure coach will tell them to get back to practice. Did you want to stay for a bit and then go?"
What about coach?
"What about him?"
He'll have to go back home by himself."How about the club room? You can spend your time in there if you want and I'm sure one of them would be happy to keep you company as you do the homework your teacher gave you." Kageyama friend, though, strangely enough, he's glad to do the work, even if it might be annoying and sometimes hard.
Yes, we can do that. They silently make their way out of the classroom, down through the school and out to the karasuno gym. Tobio had opened the door, so silent no one seemed to notice. Not until he unintentionally snuck up behind him, leaning over his shoulder to see what he's doing. He flinches. "Oh my god. You need to stop doing that It's creepy and weird." Kageyama doesn't care, he sits down next to him, watching his teammates practice.
"So how was your day?" Keishin asks quietly. Tobio doesn't answer him. "You playing today?"
No
"You can if you want, you know."
I know, I don't want to.
"You still want to catch up on schoolwork?" Takeda spoke up.
Yes. He gets up, taking the paper off him and heads over to the club room."Hey uh coach?" Yachi asks. "Yeah?"
"Can I uh can I-"
"Go ahead." He interrupts, knowing what she wants. She thanks him and follows after Tobio. When she opens the door, he's sitting there quietly, writing something. He looks up at her when the door opens. "You need any help?" She shuts the door and sits next to him. Even if he said 'no', he knows she wouldn't have left.
The two only stopped working sometime later, when coach Ukai opened the door. "Practice is done for the day." They pack up and soon enough, Tobio's in the car looking at the sunset. He notices they're not going the usual route home, so he taps Keishin on the shoulder. 'This isn't the way home.'
"Oh, shit I forgot to tell you. It shouldn't be too long; we're heading over to Takinoue's for a bit."The drive isn't long. Tobio had only asked to turn the radio up, to try and soothe the uneasiness that's settled within him.
It's a distraction, but it didn't seem to work very well. Kageyama had just been glad when they finally pulled up into the driveway. He got out and followed them up to the front door. Coach banged on it; Takinoue opened it a moment later.
"You want a beer?" He jokes, tossing a can over to Tobio, who catches it then sets it on the bench. 'No thanks'
"Nah I don't think I'm supposed to give a teenager alcohol, you can have a coke if you want though." He tosses a can of coke at him, taking the beer off the bench and opening it. "You sure you don't want some?" He teases. Keishin, who was walking past him, smacked him on the back of his head. "Ow!" He glared at him before walking outside to the back porch."I'm gonna be outside, okay? Come get me if you need anything. You can chill out in the lounge room if you want, do some of your homework, tv, whatever. Think he has a bookshelf full of weird occult and paranormal books. You shouldn't read them, but I can't make you not do something, so just be careful, and if you have any problems with your homework...you should probably ask Tetsu about that."
Ukai walks to the back porch, while Kageyama the lounge room. He puts the tv, selecting a random movie as background noise while he catches up on schoolwork, not wanting to be anymore behind then he already is.
He leaves the problems he has more trouble with last, deciding to come back to them later, and if he really does need help, then he'll ask Takeda for it.
Some time passed by, and he decides to lift his head up from the table and take a break. His house had been more welcoming than he thought. As soon as he had walked in and through the house, he could see an incense stick burning, trialing smoke throughout the house. Multiple symbols of some kind had been hanging or drawn on at the front of the house, inside of the house and probably back of it too. A salt lamp is on, sitting on the tv cabinet in the left corner, glowing a warm orange.
A few crystals here, a few crystals there. A shelf of books with occult and the paranormal, just like coach had said. He's tempted to take a look through them, but he doesn't, not wanting to upset or disappoint his guardians. The sound of windchimes comes from outside, gently swaying in the evening breeze.
Kageyama likes this house. He's not sure why, but it's cozy and makes him feel safe, as if he's protected here, but that's not true. He wishes he was protected here, and at home, but that's not the case, sadly, he doubts it will ever be the case.
