_________Matsuo POV_________

"Sir," my receptionist walked into to my corporate office. "I need to confirm your eight o'clock appointment for tonight. Will you still be attending?"

"Yes, you can tell my associate I will be attending," I answer, continuing to look down at my papers.

"Okay, sir, is there anything else I can do for you?"

I stand up with my phone in hand ready to dial, glancing at Karen, "No, that'll be all."

The door clicked shut when she left, leaving me alone in my office, and I turned away from the desk facing the window. Most of my work that pertains to the hotel is done here.

Work for the Jade Dragons is carried out in my penthouse office, which I much rather prefer. It's brighter and more welcoming in my corporate office filled with awards, sculptures, and flower arrangements to catch the eye of clients. The penthouse office is much darker, displayed my personal collection of books, and swords my mother gifted me when I was young. The atmosphere there felt more comforting. This fake glowing personality I put on in this office for work is tiring.

I reached into my suit pocket, grabbing my cell phone, scrolling to Anthony's name and number. It rang a few times before his gruff, yet cheerful tone answered.

"Toma, my boy, I hope you're calling to take up my offer to spend an evening on my yacht."

His overly eager tone made me roll my eyes, I know exactly why he wants to join him on the yacht.

"You're in luck, I'm calling to schedule a meeting with you," it nearly pained me to me friendly with Anthony.

"Splendid," he cheered. "I'll have my secretary call you, oh-and don't forget to bring Alice along. Serena had such a nice time with her at lunch, I think the two of them could be great friends."

With that ungrateful brat? Does he seriously think that is the only reason why he wants me to bring Alice. That scum has much more filthy ideas for her, I will keep an eye on that woman when he's around.

"Certainly, I'll bring her."

"Now excuse me, we'll be in touch soon."

At that the phone call ended. I raised my wrist watch up catching the time.

I leave my office riding the elevator to the penthouse house expecting to find Zhen occupied in the living area. However I find it empty as the doors slide open. The television was also switched off and the bedroom door is wide open with no one in it. I walk up stairs checking the room just as the elevator dinged again from someone arriving.

As I suspected it was Zhen accompanied by Alice, she stood frozen in a bathing suit watching me while I descended from the stairs. I flash my second in command who I thought was smart enough to follow my orders to remain in the penthouse at all times with the cop. Apparently he doesn't have the brains to follow simple orders.

I sent her off to her room doing the same giving Zhen an irritated glare before heading to my room. After I changed I stationed myself by the bar pouring a glass of a whiskey. Zhen reached for the bottle that I pulled away corking it and set it on the shelf along with the other bottles.

"Come on Toma, are you that upset I brought her to the pool?"

"She's not a guest at this hotel, Zhen," I reminded, taking a swig from my drink.

He scoffed ,tucking his hands in his pockets, "then what is she?"

Zhen raised a brow at me, walking away as I finished off my whiskey, avoiding his question. The cop is most certainly not a guest, but she is not a prisoner, I could have her locked away in a much worse place than the penthouse. She is lucky to be in this scenario compared to many more dangerous ones I can easily think up for the cop. As far as her using the pool- she hasn't earned it or any other amenities at the hotel.

At that thought, the cop's bedroom door opened, and she stepped out. I glanced at her stunned yet again. Well, she has captured my attention.
