Alice POV
"Stay down!"
*smack*
My dreams quickly turn into raging nightmares during the night. Everything that happened when Zhen and I were kidnapped came flooding back as soon as I fell asleep. Each punch, kick, slap, and threat is relived instantaneously in my sleep for the past few nights.
Yet a light of hope chased away the nightmares when Matsuo appeared in them. Though the nightmares only temporarily invaded my dreams for just a little while last night, it turned out to be one of the most restful sleep I've ever had in days. I was consumed in warmth from head to toe. The pillows I hug against me act as a furnace wrapping me into a blissful embrace. With my eyes still closed I squeeze the pillow pressing my head against it and to my surprise it squeezed me back.
I cracked open my eyes blinking away the remnants of sleep that lingered behind. A rather large lump in the sheets occupied the space beside me. As I lift my face a warm breath fanned across my forehead, and I instantly freeze.
Why am I in his bed?
Angrily I tried pulling away from Matsuo, but his arms held me firmly in place on the bed. He uses his hand to press my head against his bare chest stalling my escape. The top half of Matsuo's body was flushed against mine, radiating heat. My cheeks Instinctively redden.
Taking a deep and much-needed breath I place my hands on Matsuo's hard chest. I push until his arms loosened and I can sit up.
"I can't believe this," I whisper to myself.
"You hugged me first," Matsuo yawned while stretching out his arms.
I jump at the sound of his voice breaking the silence. When he finished stretching, one of his large hands fell on my thankfully clothed thigh. Matsuo did not attempt to remove his hand, so I roughly moved it for him.
He gave me a sideways look. "You didn't mind me touching you last night."
I snapped, grabbing a pillow and hitting him repeatedly until he grabbed both my wrists. I lay on top of him, our faces close enough for our breaths to mix. Instantly, I look at his eyes fixed on his piercing gaze and then down to his lips, which quirks up into a lazy grin. At the sight, my heart thumps faster.
"If I had known you were feisty in the morning, I would have made you sleep here sooner."
"Despicable," I thrash around his grip, finally breaking free. "Why didn't you leave me on the couch, I was perfectly fine there." I get out of bed as fast as I can standing on my feet so I can glare at Matsuo.
Matsuo sat up on the opposite side of the bed with his back to me.
"You looked uncomfortable."
He stood up, walking around the bedpost until he stood right in front of me. It took all the self-control I had not to allow my eyes to roam down his body, and boy did it feel like a losing battle until he spoke again.
"I know how terrible it is to sleep on that couch, so I moved you to the bed."
"That didn't stop you last time I slept on the couch." I point out, crossing my arms over my chest.
Matsuo takes a step closer, which I match backwards, then he rests an arm on the bedpost above my head, looking down at me.
"Thing's changed."
He walked away disappearing into his closet, I took his absence as my time to leave the room. I walk to my bedroom/storage unit to fetch clothes to change into so I can get the smell of Matsuo off of me. The wooden crates took up most of the space in my room including my bed. Carefully I fit through the gaps in between crates and pallets of God knows what, to get to my closet. In a new fresh set of clothes, I return to the living room as Zhen stood at the bar as always, but he tossed me a weird look.
