______Alice POV______

For the past week, I have avoided Matsuo, and neither did he make an effort to see me since that night. I am angry, so fucking angry at his multiple personalities I have to put up with. This is not the first time he has made me angry, he always infuriates me but this was a new feeling that wasn't entirely anger alone.

Disappointment?

No, there's nothing to be disappointed in when it comes to Matsuo. He is the biggest, hot headed, jerk I have ever encountered. Although I did for a second believe I had made progress and started to understand him. I guess it's safe to say I was wrong. I'm wrong about a lot of things, so why would this be any different. Why would that man be any different?

I roll over onto my stomach on the bed to look out of the window to gain clarity. Every day is routine as I watch the sun rise then set, and it never becomes less beautiful or boring.

As I watch the sun set again for the hundredth time, my stomach grumbles. My appetite hasn't been present much these days, but I shouldn't starve myself because of these damn feelings.

I make my way to the kitchen only to be stopped by Zhen in the living area. He, as always, had his eyes glued to his phone standing in my path. Zhen was dressed in his usual attire; a suit and tie with a gun in his waistband.

"You're going out to dinner." He pockets his phone before looking up.

"He needs his mistress again." I grumble, walking back into my room.

"No, tonight it's just the two of you."

Zhen didn't specify how to dress, so I assume casual since I'll be with Matsuo. If I'm being honest, I'm nervous about seeing him after our last encounter.

Regardless, the curiosity as to what the purpose of us going out did intrigue me. Our past dining conversations were unpleasant, and as I expect, this one will end the same as the rest. Maybe I'm just overthinking this-this is simple an arrangement, nothing more.

Shortly after getting dressed, Zhen, Yang, and I left the penthouse in one of the SUVs. The sun has long disappeared as night time arrived.

Zhen and Yang sat in the front of the vehicle while I sat in the back seat. I sat behind Yang on the passenger side, casting my gaze out of the window.

We traveled to a secluded street that didn't have a single restaurant as far as I could tell. This location is obviously not the right place, so Zhen must've gotten lost or taken the wrong turn somewhere.

"This can't be right, I'll turn around and check the address again." Zhen turned on to another street to go back the way we came.

"We must've passed it closer to the city. What's the address?" I asked, leaning toward Zhen.

He reached into his pocket, fishing out his phone to double-check the address. As I looked around to attempt to find the name of the street we were traveling down, lights began to blind me from the side.

Suddenly, our SUV is struck on the passenger side, causing us to spin out of control. I wasn't wearing a seat belt, so I was flung across the back seat.

Shattered glass flew across the dashboard as our car skid across the road until we were struck by another vehicle. Our car flipped over as the metal frame bends and scraped against the asphalt.

White dots danced across my field of vision, making it impossible to focus. In the distance, I can faintly hear other vehicles pulling up next to us. I hoped they were emergency services, however the lack of flashing lights told me otherwise.
