______ALICE POV_____

We had let Muyang simmer for a night in holding before an officer retrieved him for interrogation. Blake asked me to do the questioning, which I didn't mind really, but I wanted to sit this one out. So, I'll send another senior detective in with him.

"Alright, I'm ready." Blake adjusted his shirt which is a nervous habit of his.

He saw that I didn't try to follow him out of the observation room. My partner turned contorting his face in confusion.

"You're not coming?"

"No, I think I'll let you take over this one." I was nonchalant.

"Really?" Blake was eager yet hesitant. "You're not pulling my leg again?"

"No, why would I do that." I joked with a chuckle. "But you need a senior detective with you in the interrogation room."

On cue, detective Brown walked in, smiling at Blake. He immediately looked back at me for help.

"Anybody but him." Blake acts as if I pulled a cruel joke.

I shrugged, "He's the only one that volunteered."

"Really?" Blake strained his voice look between Brown and I.

"Yep." Me and Brown said in unison.

Blake ran a hand down his face, appearing as distressed as ever. He didn't argue and accepted his fate quietly.

The both of them entered the interrogation room, where Muyang waited with his hands cuffed to the table. Blake took a seat with the file in hand, and Brown stood behind, leaning back against the two-way mirror.

"Alright, my friend, my partner and I have a few questions for you." Blake spoke of with his hand clasped in front of him.

I figured he would play the good cop, I've never seen any side to him besides that. It's not a bad quality when you use it to your advantage, but people tend not to take it seriously. Good thing Brown is in there to play the bad cop.

"So, tell me, whose your supplier?" Blake tackles this head first.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Muyang pretends to be oblivious.

Blake didn't seem to let that divert him and open the file, "Well, we caught you selling drugs red-handed."

"Oh yeah, how's that? Did Kenny talk to you? I had a suspicion that he was a rat."

"Why sell to him anyway if you thought he snitched on you guys?" Blake dug in deeper, but Muyang remained silent. "Your supplier must be desperate for a quick buck to sell to a junkie that allegedly ratted on you. Doesn't sound like the smartest thing to do, but criminals become dumb and dumber by the minute."

Blake was going in the direction to ignite anger in Muyang. Usually, suspects or people in general say things out of frustration. Some are hot-headed enough to admit to crimes if they think they're being dogged by the police. It has work for me on occasion, however, by Muyang's body language I don't think he'll be easy to crack.

"Look, boy." Detective Brown stepped in leaning on the table with his hands. "It doesn't look good for you. You were caught with bags of meth and selling it. You know what happens after this, but it doesn't have to be like that. All you have to do is tell us who your supplier is because he doesn't care about you, obviously. You're the middle man in his operation, expendable, to say the least. You don't have to go down for him."

Detective Brown intervened with an appealing counter. When it comes to operations like this, it goes one of two ways; they take the fall for their boss, or they jump at the bit to throw them under the bus. It's hard to say where this will go from the little I've seen. Muyang doesn't seem to be kind to rat on his boss. That loyalty will put us in a bind, although I do have one trick up my sleeve. I would rather not use it, but if it's to take down Han, I'll risk it.
