Matsuo POV
The sounds of pure agony and pain could be heard throughout the penthouse for the day. I watched Zhen shove thin wooden skewers underneath our captive's fingernails while standing near the window. He was taking the pain pretty well considering he hasn't spoken a single word since we started to work him for information. My hands clenched into fists now and again as I think about earlier when Alice thought she could get him to talk. What a bold woman, so ridiculous to think she could do better.
She was taken aback that I said there was nothing she could do to get this man to talk. He was trained to die before ratting out his superiors. It's only a matter of time before we break him although, he is holding out longer than expected. My methods aren't working at the moment, and I doubt the cop's interrogating would have any effect.
Stupid cop.
"Enough," I spoke to Zhen in Japanese.
By now he had inserted seven spikes under the captive's fingernails which looked a little faint. Nighttime is approaching and our torture hasn't accomplished anything except to run my patience thinner than ever. I walked behind Zhen to where only he could hear me.
"Leave him here for tonight we'll resume tomorrow." We'll see how he'll deal with the pain tonight surely; he will talk soon.
I exit the room first greeted by Len and the others sitting around the living room.
"Did he say anything?" Ken was the first to speak as the others waited for me to answer.
I shake my head no and everyone slumps their shoulders in irritation. Whoever ordered those men to open fire at us at the club will pay, no one will disrespect me and get away with it. Shortly, Ken and the others all begin to leave the penthouse except for Zhen who remains in the living room.
"I'll stay posted here tonight, keep an eye on our special guest." Zhen regarded our captive sarcastically.
I begin to walk towards the stairs but stop when I remember that cop is in my bedroom. I curse Len for bringing her there. There is no shortage of rooms in my penthouse however, my room and the cops were the only ones that had beds. For all I care she can sleep on the cold floor, she already has after drinking my whiskey.
"What's wrong Toma?" Zhen pulled me out of my thoughts waking in my direction. "Is it the cop?"
"Len brought her into my room." Zhen nodded understanding how much I disliked others in my bedroom.
"Want me to relocate her?"
"No, there's no other room she can sleep in and I don't want her leaving the penthouse." I begin to walk up the stairs.
"Okay," Zhen walls towards the kitchen mumbling loud enough for me to hear him. "Do try to keep it down in there tonight."
Zhen disappears into the kitchen before I can snap at him. His suggestive remark made me dread going to my bedroom even more.
When I was standing in front of the door, I took a deep breath before entering. As I walked in, I passed by Alice who was sitting on the couch watching television, and briefly glance at her. She did not meet my eyes solely focused on the tv screen. I continue on to the closet grabbing clothes before heading into the shower.
Once I'm finished, steamed poured put the bathroom when I stepped out and catch Alice's attention. Her cheeks turn a shade pink before lowering her eyes. I took this as a chance to walk in that direction watching her visibly stiffen as I neared.
"Do you need to take a shower?" I ask while staring down at her awkward composure.
"No, just a change of clothes to sleep in." She remained staring at the tv.
As I think about it I can either get Zhen to grab clothes from her room or lend Alice my pajamas for tonight. The idea of the cop in my clothes is a hassle but having Zhen going through her pajamas, like the undergarments, didn't sit well with me. Plus, he would have made more suggestive comments and I would shoot him on the spot. So, in the end I walk off to my closet looking for the smallest t-shirt, and pair of sweatpants that I could find. When I do I walk back to Alice handing them to her.
She timidly took them walking into the bathroom.
"Did you eat dinner?" I ask while turning off the television.
"Y-yes, one of the maids brought me something to eat earlier." She answered from the other side of the door.
Alice sounded surprised that I asked. I don't care for the cop; I just can't have a mistress that is all bones and no meat. While I'm sorting the pillows the bathroom door opens. Alice stood in the doorway I glanced at her but glanced again when I saw the way my clothes fit her. She rolled up the sweatpants around her hips hanging low and my black shirt was loose hanging off of one of her shoulders. Alice tried to keep the shirt from falling down her shoulder, but it fell each time.
Internally I scold myself for paying such closer attention. It was the first time I had a woman wearing my clothes. With the strength I can muster I pry my eyes away long enough to tame the thoughts that ran rapid. After cooling off I glance back at the cop. She was looking at my bed standing in the middle of the room. Immediately, I glare.
"You're sleeping on the couch."
Her blue eyes connect with mine before looking back at the couch. Alice walked over to the couch and lays down. I stifle a laugh after she lays down without a pillow or blanket. So, I take one of my black pillows and a soft blanket from my closet over to the couch. She lifts her head as I hand the pillow over then freezes when I drape the blanket over her. Alice's eyes catch mine as I did so. Even I was surprised to do such a thing for her, very out of character. I drop the blanket over her face and quickly walked away.
For the rest of the night, I tossed and turned of the fact that she was there. From here I could see the small form sleeping on the couch shifting constantly, and I begin to think how I am going to sleep.
