_______ Alice POV______
"You sure this is going to work?" Zhen asked in a worried whisper.
I stood in front of him, "Yeah, yeah. Maybe."
Zhen handed me the gun reluctantly, shaking his head at my plan. To be honest, I am winging this entire thing. However, that is best unsaid at the moment.
"You better not get me killed, cop."
He's dressed in the dead man's clothes with his hands behind his head. I had to convince him to do so, which took a lot of begging. Zhen would rather shoot his way out, but I'm sure if we do that, we will be swarmed by attackers in minutes.
With his back facing the corridor, I hold him at gunpoint to make him seem like my hostage. Zhen hated the idea, but it was the only one I could come up with on short notice.
Then, I whistled to gain the attention of the two men sitting at the small round table. They were playing a game of cards that we interupt.
"Hands up, or I kill your guy." I warn them before they reach for their guns on the table.
With Zhen's back facing them, they couldn't see his face at all. They listened to me and raised their hands above their heads. I nod to Zhen before walking him backward toward the other men.
As we drew closer, the men watched me closely with hate filled glares. With each step, my heart hammered painfully in my chest and accelerated my growing adrenaline. When Zhen is backed up far enough that the men realized he wasn't one of their's, they tried to reach for the weapons.
Zhen reacted quickly, swinging at one man before pinning him against the wall with the knife. The other I point the gun at him and stepped closer the stop him from grabbing his gun.
"On your knees!" I warn, aiming at his chest.
Zhen spoke to his man in japanese while pressing the knife into his throat just enough to scare him.
I get behind my guy, pressing the gun into the back of his head as Zhen spoke. Whatever he said must've made them squeel speaking quickly in japanese.
"What are they saying?" I asked.
Zhen hit his guy hard enough to knock him out cold, I do the same with the hilt of my gun to the other.
"Well, they said there is no way we're making it out alive. Building is crawling these assholes on the lower floors." Zhen picked up one of the guns from the table.
I looked at him, thinking of our chances of escaping that were growing smaller and smaller.
"So, stay here and die, or escape and possibly die." I breathe out looking at Zhen. "Which do you prefer?"
Zhen didn't meet my eyes, checking the gun, and grabbed an extra magazine. He tucked it into his pants before glancing over at me.
"I prefer-
At that moment, gun shots rang out like a storm from below us. I crouched, holding out my gum, aiming down the hall on instinct.
