________Matsuo POV________

In my office, I sat in my chair as the doctor disinfected my wounds. He wasn't as gentle as Alice. It's a mystery to me how a woman as firey as she can have a delicate touch.

"Why did you bring the girls?" I peered over at Zhen with a drink in his hand.

He kept swirling it around next to me, so I knocked it out of his hand. The glass fell onto the carpet with a thud and spilled its contents onto the carpet. Now I had Zhen's full attention.

"They stole the keys." He mumbled to hide the embarrassment.

I glared at him, "How did two women, half your size overpower you?"

Zhen's ego is obviously bruised, and his silence is answered enough. The doctor placed one last bandage on my arm before closing up the first aid kit. I thanked him before he walked out, leaving me alone with Zhen.

"This puts us in a tough position." I tossed my new cell on the desk. "I'll deal with that later. In the meantime, I need you to bring my father's spy to the yard tomorrow."

"What time?"

"At dawn, I want you up bright and early, waiting for me in the yard with him." I grinned, knowing how much Zhen loathes waking early in the mornings.

It's sort of entertainment for me and punishment for him.

He picked up the glass with a grunt and left my office. I followed him out; however, we went our separate ways. Zhen went downstairs to the elevator, and I headed to my room for a shower.

The hot water soothes the tension in my muscles to some degree. However, I'm still wound with wild thoughts endlessly running through my mind. I switched the water from hot to cold to douse my impure desires.

Once I'm out of the shower, I seek food in the kitchen to find some already laid out. Various snacks and a half-eaten sandwich on top of the counter. When I walked around, I found one heel that Alice was wearing lying on the ground.

"Oh," Alice was standing in the archway of the kitchen. "I was going to clean that."

She still stood there watching me. I take notice that she finally changed out of that dress and into sleepwear.

"Don't mind me," I turned away to grab veggie chips from the pantry

I guess Alice thought I was going to leave the kitchen, but I leaned against the refrigerator, watching as she cleaned. She gathered all the trash and tossed them into the bin. When she got to the sandwich, she took a bite and made eye contact with me.

"What?" She deadpanned.

"Nothing, just eating my chips." I crunch loudly on one of them.

I kept staring even after she had turned away to continue eating. A chuckle slipped out despite my best efforts. That got her attention.

"Why are you watching me?"

"Why did you kiss me?"

Matching her question with a question only flustered her. She nearly choked on her sandwich and coughed relentlessly.

"That's not funny," Alice fussed.

I threw away the empty bag and walked over to her, "I wasn't being funny. I'm serious, dead serious."

She reels back and can't help gazing up at me in surprise. I watched as the blush on her cheeks quickly spread from ear to ear. As tough as Alice seems, I can disarm her just by getting close. I don't know when this started, but I'm not mad about it. I toyed with her some more and walked Alice back into a counter. Then, I placed my hands on each side to trap her in place.

"What are you doing?" She glared at me.

"I'm waiting for an answer," I replied nonchalantly.

Alice huffed, "It-it just happened. There's nothing more to it."

I licked my lips, dissatisfied with her response.

"You're sure there's nothing?" I gambled at placing a hand behind her head.

Automatically, she tilted her head up, gazing at me. I can see it in Alice's eyes, but she was holding it back. I wanted to bring it out of her if she let me.

I thought for a second she'd make the first move however, my hand dropped when she stepped away. I sighed, looking sideways.

"There is nothing but an arrangement between us." She uses my own words against me.

I can't help but laugh at myself, although I'm impressed by Alice. She managed to keep a straight face and remained firm. I hated the denial in her eyes when she looked at me so longingly. I know because it's the same way I looked at her.
