Rest and Resolutions

The dinner table was abuzz as the currently present members of Team RWBEY and the remaining members of Team JNPR all talked. The mood was quite cheery, despite their current situation, with the children all smiling and laughing.

Yang laughed at Jaune. "How do you lose your map at a time like that?"

"Believe me, I've asked myself the same thing ever since."

Yang, Weiss, and Ruby laughed, while Jaune smiled and chuckled sheepishly.

"Hey, but you made up for it, Mister Muscles!" Nora told him. "You shoulda seen this guy take a giant Grimm head on!"

"I couldn't have done it without Ruby wearing it down."

"Uh, me? Did you see Ren during that fight? He was out of control!"

"I'm sorry, I may have lost my temper momentarily." Ren apologized.

"No, no! Out of control as in 'awesome'!" Ruby explained.

"Oooohhh. Thank you."

Everyone at the table burst into laughter.

As dinner continued, Weiss told her story about how she accidentally summoned a Boarbatusk during the Schnee charity ball.

"You did not!" Ruby gasped.

Weiss had her face in her hands.

"Yeah, right in the middle of the party."

"Please tell me you let that lady have it," Yang said.

"Of course not! Even if I did really want to." Weiss smiled slightly.

Nora crossed her arms, skeptical. "No way, I don't believe it."

Weiss summoned her Boarbatusk right next to Nora. The Grimm summon growled, causing Nora to yelp and fall to her side and the rest of the table to laugh.

Eclipse marveled at the stark difference between her and Weiss' summons. "It's so pretty..."

"Soooo Eclipse you look...different."

"Was that really the best you could come up with?"

"Shut up."

Eclipse smirked at the blonds' interaction. "Oh? Different how?"

Weiss hit her arm lightly. "Quit."

"But Princesa, it's so fun."

"You just like making men uncomfortable."

"Not all men. I love Ren and I'd protect him with my life."

"Thank you." Ren said.

"No problem buddy." Eclipse smiled at the pink eyed boy. "But yeah, is it the eyes? It's probably the eyes."

"Yes it's your eyes," Jaune sighed. "Were you just wearing colored contacts at Beacon or are you wearing them now?"

Eclipse, who had started eating while Jaune talked, quickly finished the rest of her soup before answering. "No, no this is how my eyes normally are. I made a deal with a god to get them back to semi normal though. The bastard..."

A shelf fell almost hitting the ground but was caught with Eclipse's Semblance. Her eyes flashed red briefly as she used shadows to fix the shelf back into place.

"Nice try Erebus." she took a sip of her drink.

Team RNJR exchanged cautious looks but the attention was quickly brought to Yang showing off her robotic prosthetic arm to the rest of the group. All of them (minus Eclipse) reacted in awe.
