MORE Interrogations Before Bed

And she was right.

As she was walking back to her room Eclipse got dragged into one of the guest rooms and the door was shut behind her. She turned around to see the others sitting around the room.

"You have a lot of explaining to do."

"Uh yeah. Yeah, I guess I should've said something sooner."

"You guess? When were you even going to tell us?!"

"Once I finished writing my will." Eclipse shrugged. "But since that deadline changed, where do you want me to start?"

"The beginning. And no lies!"

"Alright. Well technically Eclipse is my actual name but my birth name is Thea Rey Persephone Kamiya. Everyone in my family is named after a god or goddess but my first name is different because I'm named after my mom's late friend. I was born here in Atlas and I'm the oldest child and the heir of the Kamiya Enterprise."

"If you're the heiress to all this," Ruby gestured around the room, "then why did you leave?"

"I didn't really have a choice..."

"What do you mean?"

"That's not important. At all. What else do you wanna know?"

"Semblance."

"You already kn–"

"We know that you can control the grimm because of the god of darkness, what's your real Semblance?"

"Life manipulation." She waved her hand over a dying rose and it grew back to a fully bloomed one. "It mostly only works on plants."

"Not humans?"

"I've never tried."

"How old are you?"

"19."

"Why didn't you tell us about you being a whole ass heiress?"

"I didn't see any reason to. I never planned on coming back here so telling you all of this seemed unimportant."

"Dammit Eclipse!" Yang threw the table aside but Eclipse used the shadows to keep it and the vase from hitting the wall. "We said no more secrets and half truths! That meant all of us!"

"Yang–"

"No! I don't care whether you planned on coming back or not, you've been lying since we met you!"

"That's not true."

"Oh yeah? How?"

"I never lied about my Semblance or my name or my family. Just because I didn't tell you every little thing about me doesn't mean I was lying to you."

"Well it wasn't enough."

"Well then what else do you wanna know, Yang?"

"Why did you keep it all a secret? Your family, your Semblance, everything! Why?!"

"I wanted a fresh start. I didn't have a choice about leaving so why should I keep the name that ties me to a place I couldn't stay? Semblances are what make us special. Unique. No one else in Remnant has the same Semblance as me so if anyone knew that I had it they'd know who I was. And I'd be damned if I found a safe place but still had to fight for my life because I'm worth millions. So yeah, I kept secrets but can you really blame me?"

Yang was silent for a moment. "...no."

"That's what I thought."

"You said that you're the only person in Remnant with your Semblance."

"Yeah?"

"So you guys don't have hereditary Semblances too?"

"I mean we sorta do. We're born with strong Aura. The same as a Huntress or Huntsman but without any sort of training."

"How?"

"Hell if we know. The biggest time it happened was with my Aunt Tyche. She was born with her Semblance."

"What is her Semblance?"

"She was born lucky. Her Semblance is the only reason she was born, actually. Four Leaf Clover. It's also why she made a casino."

"Were you born with your Semblance?"

"No but I did get it at a very young age. Maybe four or five. Esteban got his at seven and Apollo shortly before I... left." She stood up and stretched (almost like a cat) before heading to the door. "I'll tell you more tomorrow but for tonight I think we should all go to bed."

She put the table and vase back using her Semblance to make the flowers in the room bloom again and left. Barely a second passed before she heard someone yell, "Thea!" and jumped on her.

"Apollo." she sighed as her brother clung to her once again. "What is it?"

"Can you sing us a lullaby?"

"'Us'?"

"Tay." Esteban said coming out of nowhere. "Please? C'mon don't you love us?"

"Up for debate." she shrugged but started walking toward the end of the hall where their rooms were. "But I guess I can."

Weiss didn't want to sound like a scaredy cat but she absolutely hated sleeping alone in the Kamiya manor. It was bigger than her family's mansion and the dark just made it unnerving especially since there were supposedly spirits in the house.

She got out of bed and put her slippers on quietly making her way to the room across the hall from the one she used to stay in whenever she came over.

"Move."

Thea sighed and shuffled over a bit letting Weiss get into bed next to her.

"I don't like sleeping alone here."

"You never have. The others are gonna ask a lot of questions if they see you here though."

"I really can't give a damn anymore."

"The perfect Weiss Schnee cursing? I never thought I'd see the day."

"I've cursed in front of you before."

"Maybe. But 2 am Thea doesn't remember it."

Weiss moved a bit closer to her letting Eclipse wrap her arms around her. "Goodnight Thea."

"Night Angel."
