A black haired boy with pink and green streaks in his hair, headed out while a skipping orange haired girl followed, passing Ruby, Yang, and Eclipse as they were busy readying themselves. Eclipse had just sat down on a bench close by when they started conversing.

"Wonder what those two are so worked up about?" Ruby questioned.

"Oh, who knows," Yang said. "So, you seem awfully chipper this morning!"

"Yeah," Eclipse added. "Have you been eating raw sugar packets again?"

"Yes and yes! But that has nothing to do with my happy mood!" Ruby replied. "No more awkward small talk or 'getting-to-know-you' stuff. Today, I get to let my sweetheart do the talking." She stroked Crescent Rose and sighed happily.

"Well, remember, Ruby, you're not the only one going through initiation," Yang reminded her sister. "If you wanna grow up, you're gonna have to meet new people and learn to work together."

"Yeah, you learned to work with me. You just have to do the same with a few more people."

"You sound like Dad!" Ruby sighed frustratedly and shoved her weapon into the locker. "Okay, first of all: What does meeting new people have to do with fighting? And secondly: I don't need people to help me grow up! I drink milk!"

"She's got us there Firecracker," Eclipse started sarcastically. "But, Rubes, have you noticed that you're still shorter than me and Yang?"

"That's because you're both freaky tree people!"

"Yeah, what about when we form teams?" Yang asked.

"Um, I don't know, I... I'll just be on your team or something..."

Yang brought her hair around her shoulder and started stroking it. "Maybe you should try being on someone else's team?"

"My dear sister Yang, are you implying that you do not wish to be on the same team as me?" Ruby accused more than asked.

Eclipse gasped dramatically, clearly sarcastic. "Blondie how could you?! Next you'll tell me to go partying with you!"

"What? No! Of course I do!" Yang replied to Ruby as she playfully glared at Eclipse, who just smirked and winked in response. "I just thought... I don't know, maybe it would help you... break out of your shell!"

"What the-?! I don't need to 'break out of my shell'! That's absolutely-"

"Ridiculous!" Jaune exclaimed, suddenly walking in between the three friends, holding a map and looking lost.

'What a coincidence,' Eclipse thought and made to walk after him.

"There's no way I put my gear in locker 636 yesterday! I would've remembered having to count that high! Why does this have to happen today?"

Jaune passed Weiss and a red-haired girl as they readied themselves at their lockers.

"So, Pyrrha, have you given any thought to whose team you'd like to be on?" Weiss asked the redhead. "I'm sure everyone must be eager to unite with such a strong, well-known individual such as yourself!"

"Hmm... I'm not quite sure. I was planning on letting the chips fall where they may." The girl, now known as Pyrra, answered.

"Well... I was thinking maybe we could be on a team together."

"Well, that sounds grand!" Pyrra said excitedly.

"Great!"

Jaune came between them and interrupted Weiss' train of thought, "You know what else is great? Me. Jaune Arc. Nice to meet you."
