In Between pt. 2

why Esteban and Apollo aren't in school:

Esteban and Apollo walked into the manor soaking wet looking like they were about to try to kill each other. Eclipse started laughing.

"Do I wanna know what happened here?"

"This pendejo pushed me in the pool after class!"

"Okay- okay so why are you wet?"

"Stuart Little here grabbed my leg and dragged me in after him." Esteban told her. "We're suspended for two weeks now."

"Who's fault is that?!"

"Yours! If you didn't pull me in they wouldn't have noticed!"

"I think they'd notice me looking like a drowned rat Esteban!"

"You look like a drowned rat every day."

"Wow. I set a classroom on fire and I only got five days."

"It would've been two days if Little Orphan Annie didn't try to kill me!"

"You what?"

"I wasn't trying to kill him, just make him swallow enough water to render him unconscious."

"You were drowning me!"

"So what, you're still alive!"

"Esteban stay still!"

"No! You're trying to poke my eyes out!"

"I'm trying to put colored contacts in, you idiot!"

"I didn't volunteer for this!"

"But you agreed to help me so sit down and stay still!"

"What's going on?"

"Apollo is taking cosmetology so he's been practicing supernatural makeup looks."

"Ah."

"I will rip out your tonsils and put them in a jar if you don't sit still!"

"Okay but say—"

"Esteban, stop talking about cannibalizing Apollo. You're being weird." Eclipse rolled her eyes.

"Shut up! I swear to every single god Apollo if you don't shut up I will..." From there his speech transitioned into Spanish which, while the teams couldn't understand the words, they could clearly tell it was threatening.

Eclipse and Weiss, who could understand exactly what Esteban was saying, sat on the side practicing their summoning.

"Poison. Tea. Accidental."

"Foxglove." Apollo and Eclipse replied in unison. "Why?"

"Essay." Esteban scribbled down some more notes before stopping again. "Illegal. Germans."

"War. Arsenic."

"Era?"

"1940's."

"Why are you writing your essay in the morning? You can't even speak full sentences in the morning!"

"Can too. Not in English."

"This is for your honors English though isn't it?"

"Chemistry."

"Dio, when is that due?"

"24th."

"It's the 7th. Take a nap."

"Thea! I just want to brush your hair!" Arabela yelled as she looked for her child. They stopped as Esteban and Apollo walked in. "¿Chicos has visto a tu hermana?"

Esteban bit off the tip of his pocky stick and the boys looked at each other. "No."

"¿Le has preguntado a Weiss?" Esteban asked.

"No. Weiss!"

The boys shrugged at each other and went back to their conversation as Arabela made their way upstairs.

¿Chicos has visto a tu hermana? - boys have you seen your sister?

¿Le has preguntado a Weiss? - have you asked Weiss?

"How— When did you guys-?"

"I can summon, she can summon, we wanted to see what would happen."

"Yeah. Turns out we can combine them."

"Hey Angel."

"Hm?"

"Do you think we can make each other's summons stronger?"

"How would we do that?"

"Create a glyph."

Weiss held out her hand and a white glyph appeared in her palm. Eclipse put her hand over hers and activated her semblance turning the glyph a light purple color. A small white and red nevermore started to form until it was flying around them.

"What should we do?"

"Die?"

"Esteban!"

"Can't we just—"

"If you bring up cannibalism again I'm cutting you out of my will. I'm not playin with you today."

"Okay but you didn't need to be mean about it..."
