They're Only Human

"Zeus, put the blowtorch down."

"But why?"

"You don't need it that's why and– Tyche, I swear to every single god if you're drunk right now."

Zeus, Tyche, and Arabela stood in the foyer, Arabela judging both of them as they just watched her pace back and forth.

"Bela, we're both fine. I'm not drunk and Zeus can keep the torch."

"No, he can't! His Semblance is literally fire, he doesn't even need to use a blowtorch for his job!"

She snatched the blowtorch out of his hand and put it through a portal. He ran to try and get it but she closed the portal he could.

"No! Arabela, where'd that go!"

"I'm not telling you until after the gala."

"Fine." He sighed and looked back toward the stairs. "Kids! Are you ready yet?!"

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" they heard Apollo yell then a random screech.

"Should we check up on that?"

"No, he's fine."

Meanwhile upstairs Team JNR watched as Apollo and Esteban were fighting over Apollo trying to do Esteban's eyeliner.

"You're trying to poke my eyes out!!"

"You asked me to do this, you fucking pendejo!"

"I didn't ask to have my eyes gouged out!"

Maria announced her presence by hitting Esteban on the head with her cane.

"Aye!"

"Quit yelling and let your brother finish."

"Si senorita."

"Good."

"Is this a bad time to need Apollo's help?" Oscar asked as he joined the team.

"Yes."

"Great."

"Check the fit." Yang walked out of her room and posed.

"Esteban!"

"I'm sorry I can't sit still!"

"Try harder!"

"I don't even wanna know what's going on out there." Eclipse said in her and Weiss' room pulling on her gloves.

Weiss laughed lightly. "Sounds like Apollo's doing Esteban's makeup again."

"How do you know?"

"Apollo's in cosmetology so he uses Esteban as a mannequin."

"Ah." Eclipse came up behind her and put her head on her shoulder. "I got you something."

"Yes?"

She pulled out a small white bouquet with a bow. Weiss grinned when she realized what it was: a corsage.

"Did you make this?"

"You know this looks way too good for me to have made it." she wrapped it around her wrist and kissed her hand. "Are you ready?"

"After you."

They walked out into the loft to see almost everyone in their group standing there with Apollo tying Oscar's tie after finishing Esteban's makeup. The last to join them was Ruby who stumbled out of her room careful not to fall down the stairs when she got to the cabriole.

"Ugh I still don't understand how you and Weiss can fight in these!" she complained.

"Um what?" Apollo was confused to say the least.
