The Field Trip

The door to Team RWBY's dorm room opened, revealing Yang, Blake, Eclipse, and Weiss inside. The three awake zoomed over to the person in the door, who was revealed to be Ruby.

"What happened?" Yang asked.

"Uh... well, um..." Ruby started laughing nervously.

"That was a risky move." Weiss said after Ruby finished telling them what happened in Ozpin's office.

"No," Blake disagreed. "I think you handled it well."

"I hope so." Ruby sighed.

"I'm sure everything will be alright, Ruby." Yang told her younger sister. "Oh, I know what will cheer you up!"

Yang produced a cylindrical package the length of her forearm.

"What's that?"

"I don't know yet. Dad sent it to us. I thought we could open it together!"

"Ooooh! Something from home!" Ruby exclaimed excitedly before turning to Eclipse's bed noticing her still asleep. "Eclipse!"

Eclipse jerked awake taking something out from under her pillow which the rest of the team soon found was a gun.

"What's wrong?! What happened?!" She asked frantically but she was just barely awake and starting to nod off.

"Do you sleep with a gun under your pillow?" Weiss narrowed her eyes.

"Dad sent us a package." Eclipse nodded and jumped down from her bed, not bothering to put her gun away.

Ruby zoomed over to Yang and wrapped herself around Yang, trying to take the cylinder from her. Eclipse on the other hand walked over, clearly still tired.

The package opened, and another cylinder, hairy and black, fell out onto the floor and started to shake. The object suddenly transformed into a corgi. Team RWBEY leaned in, staring at it.

The animal barked twice. While Weiss and Blake continued to react with great shock, Ruby, Eclipse, and Yang reacted excitedly, with Ruby jumping in the air. Ruby, still airborne, was depicted among a changing blue background and four shots of the dog, two full body shots and two headshots. She then posed as she shouted the dog's name.

"Zwei!"

"He sent a dog?" Blake asked.

"In the mail?" Weiss also asked.

"Oh, he does stuff like this all the time!" Yang brushed it off.

"Yeah it's odd but normal behavior from him." Eclipse added.

Blake disappeared, shown now to be on Ruby's bunk.

"Your father or your dog?" Blake asked.

"Are you telling me that this mangy... drooling... mutt is going to wiv wif us foweva?" Weiss's normal ice cold demeanor was replaced with a happy smile. "Oh, yes he is, yes he is! Oh, isn't he adorable!"

"Please keep it away from my belongings."

"Wait there's something else in here." Yang shook the package and another black cylinder popped out before transforming into a Beowulf.

Eclipse and Ruby gasped excitedly while Yang chuckled and Weiss and Blake took out their weapons.

"Cerberus!" Eclipse exclaimed. "What are you doing here?"

The Grimm ran up to his owner and happily licked her face making Eclipse laugh.

"Oh hi Cerbaby I missed you too~"
