The wind was howling. In a mountainous region, a cloaked feminine figure with a skull mask concealing her face crossed a rickety bridge alongside another cloaked figure, her eyes being concealed by a blindfold. Halfway across the bridge, they heard the screech of a Nevermore. They turned to their left to see the Nevermore appear from the fog, and the woman with the skull mask drew her weapons - a pair of sickles.

The young Maria Calavera backflipped off the bridge just as the Nevermore rammed through it, splitting the bridge in half. She threw one of her sickles at one of the Nevermore's wings and used the gravity Dust imbued in it to pull herself back up, while also dragging the Nevermore down. She grabbed her other sickle on her way back up, getting above the Nevermore, and used the recoil of her weapon to spin and grapple onto the Nevermore. She then threw one of her sickles to a mountain, pulling the Nevermore with it. The Nevermore crashed into the mountainside, losing its balance, before crash landing to the ground. Maria's other sickle was called back and landed on the ground in front of it.

Maria's friend took out the sickle from the Nevermore's wing, handing it to Maria who was still catching her breath. She looked over to the Nevermore's head, whose eyes stared back at her, causing her to gasp. The Nevermore tried to snap its beak at Maria, forcing her off. It swiped at her, knocking Maria back and forcing her to drop her sickle. The Nevermore charged forward, but Maria's eyes glowed brightly, engulfing the area around her. She stood back up and noticed the Nevermore petrified in midair, before dropping down and crumbling. Maria walked over to her sickle to pick it up, using the gravity Dust to call her other sickle back to her.

Suddenly, Maria deflected a bullet aimed at her. She noticed three men - one with a giant hammer, one carrying a rifle, and one with a machete - come out of hiding. Another woman, a crocodile Faunus named Tock, then walked up behind her.

"Well, that's a fancy trick now, innit? 'Fraid it comes with a price though, love." Tock crushed a small piece of the petrified Nevermore in her hand.

Maria turned around to face Tock, while the three men readied their weapons.

"I don't think you realize who I am." Maria said.

"Course I do." Tock took out an alarm clock, setting the timer and placing it on her belt. "You're the Grimm Reaper, and these... are the last sixty seconds of your life."

"Well then I'm not sure you know who my friend here is."

"A mere heiress. She's no match for me or my cohorts 'ere."

Tock hit the button on her clock, starting the timer's countdown. She then drew a pair of saber swords and activated her Aura. The ticking clock could be heard in the background as the battle began. Tock rushed forward and clashed blades with Maria. Maria attacked back, but Tock's Aura knocked her sickle out of her hand. Tock kicked Maria back, with the latter summoning her other sickle back to her hand.

The blindfolded woman took out her weapon, a double edged sword, and defended her friend from behind.

She cut down the rifle-wielding man, knocked out the machete-wielder, and dodged out of the way of the hammer user before knocking him to the ground.

Maria blocked another attack from Tock, who managed to push Maria back, causing her Aura to flicker.

Her sickles then circled around her due to the Gravity Dust, before combining together to form a double-edged scythe. Tock and the machete-wielder rushed forward to attack, but Maria blocked them.

The blindfolded woman grabbed the machete-wielder and kicked him back. She pouted. "Hey, you're supposed to be my playmate."

"If you insist, heiress."

He gave her a cocky smirk seeing his buddy get up behind her but the heiress mirrored it. The middle of her weapon glowed white and the swords detached from each other letting her easily twirl them and stab both men.

"Sorry boys, guess I won."

The Grimm Reaper and Tock locked weapons with each other, before Tock used her razor-sharp metal teeth to chomp through Maria's weapon. The crocodile Faunus headbutted her, shattering her skull mask in the process. Maria briefly opened up her silver eyes for a bit, when suddenly, Tock slashed at her eyes, permanently blinding Maria.

It was silent for a moment, before Maria screamed out in pain, her eyes bleeding. She continued to cry out as Tock's alarm clock rang. Tock pressed the button on her clock as her Aura deactivated.

"It was a close call, I'll give you that."

Tock walked over menacingly to Maria, who continued to cry out in pain as she held her blinded eyes. Maria managed to grab one of her sickles and tried to fire at Tock, who nonchalantly dodged out of the way. A clicking sound could then be heard from Maria's sickle, indicating her weapon was out of ammo.

"You know, the only reason my master wants you dead, is 'cause of your eyes." Tock laughed. "But seein' as you ain't got 'em no more, you might be able to convince me to spare your life."

In response, Maria tried to throw her sickle at Tock, but she dodged that too. The sickle got caught on the corpse of the Nevermore.

"Well, I respect that, a fighter to the end."

Tock readied her saber to kill Maria, but an onyx sword stopped her, plunging through her back clean through her chest. Maria finally found her other sickle and used it to slash at Tock as she fell forward...

The blindfolded woman took her friend by the hand and eased some of her pain.

"Thank you, Charis." Maria nodded. "My other sickle..."

"It got stuck in the Nevermore I needed to intervene." Charis helped lead Maria through the battlefield back to the Nevermore.

The younger woman clicked the button on her sickle summoning the other back to her hand. Charis retrieved her other sword from the machete-wielder's chest.

"I hate getting my beautys dirty." She sighed and took out a handkerchief wiping the blood off her weapon, Royal Blood. "Heiress is a very vacuous insult. Even people as dull-witted as them should be able to pronounce Persephone."

"It doesn't matter, Charis." Maria covered her eyes again feeling the blood that coated her hands from the action.

Charis frowned and took her blindfold off, revealing heterochromic black and powder blue eyes, handing it to Maria.

"We will go to Atlas. My family has the resources for you."

"Alright. To Atlas..."
