"Ew. No. Absolutely not. You'd be better off burning that."
"Tyche, can you be helpful?"
She shrugged and leaned back in her chair. The teams, Oscar, and Tyche were in a boutique looking at and trying on formal clothes for the gala. Apart from her negativity Tyche hadn't done anything other than offer her card.
"Aren't you supposed to be helping y'know like you told Dad you would?"
"I am helping. Ruby you should wear black it'll bring out your eyes."
Ruby, who had already tried on four black dresses, just looked at her for a moment before heading back to putting those dresses back on the rack. As she was pushing them aside Tyche noticed one out of the corner of her eye.
"Ooh~" she shot up from her seat and pulled the dress out. It was an off-shoulder short black dress with red tulle and roses. "This is the one."
"I haven't even tried it on yet."
"Just trust me."
Ruby shrugged and headed back to the dressing rooms right as Yang walked out. She pulled her hair out of the collar of the shrug she had put on over the white evening gown she had chosen and posed.
"How do I look?"
"At least someone knows how to pick out a dress." Tyche grinned and clapped. "Now we just need to find some shoes for you."
Meanwhile Eclipse was helping Oscar with his tie.
"It's not too hard." she told him and pulled another tie off a hook and draped it around her neck. "Start with the wide end, pull it below the narrow end and then cross it over the narrow end."
"Like this?"
"Good job!" she grinned and he smiled back. The embarrassment of not knowing something as simple as tying a tie was slipping away slowly but surely. "Wrap the wide end around, pull it up through the loop around your neck, hold the front of the knot loosely and bring the wide end through it. Now tighten the knot and slide it up."
Oscar finished with a four in hand knot and Eclipse smiled.
Thank the gods she used to wear a tie as a bartender.
"Thea!"
"Yeah ?"
"Come here! I found something for you!"
"Dear lord." she sighed and put the tie back. "Come get me if you need me."
As soon as she got to Tyche she got a dress thrown at her she barely caught it before it hit her in the face.
"Go try it on."
"Do I get a say in this?"
"Nope!"
Black satin with lavender accents edged with silver leaf details like laurels. Similar to the dress she wore at Beacon but more connected to her home, more likable.
She walked out of the dressing room and stood in front of her aunt who clapped happily. "Perfect, perfect! We're buying it!"
"Great. Is everyone done?"
"Yep!" Tyche grabbed the clothes and rushed to the counter giving Eclipse like five seconds to go back to the dressing room, change back, and come to the register so they could purchase everything. "Here we are!"
"A-are you sure you want to buy all this on one card?" the girl at the register asked, eyes widening at the pile and the 0's stacking up.
"Absolutely!"
"Okay... Your total will be seventy five million lien."
The rest of the group, besides Weiss and Eclipse, stared in shock at the price of all the clothes. Tyche pulled out a black card and hummed as the transaction went through.
The cashier's eyes glowed blue and the clothes were immediately folded and boxed with ribbons tying them shut.
"Thank you dear, here's a tip!"
"Um we don't take-"
"I think four thousand lien is enough. Maybe a bit cheap though..."
"No, no, that's more than enough!"
"If you say so. Have a good day!"
"You too ma'am."
The group left the store, most of them still whiplashed from the amount of money the Kamiyas had to spend.
"Ms. Tyche, how rich are you?"
"Mm, hard to say. I think... I can buy Mistral!"
"HUH?!?!"
