"Eclipse. Cerberus– well he didn't... he didn't really-"

"I know."

.

.
.

Yang and Eclipse stood above a grave each with bouquets in their hands. They wore all black– despite the fact that he was technically a pet– and Eclipse even wore a veil.

Secretly Yang thought it was a bit dramatic but originally the noirette had wanted to give him a "hero's funeral" which consisted of designing a laurel, saying a nice speech, and then burning it but Tai still didn't trust them with fire (it's not their fault that the matches relit themselves in the trash) so this was the next best thing.

All for her darling pet, Cerberus.

"Cerberus, my faithful friend. You were one of the best people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and, though it hasn't been long, I feel I've been alone these past weeks I've been awake."

'Okay now this is getting ridiculous.'

Yang had to restrain herself from giving Eclipse the same incredulous look the noirette had given her when they first met (to be fair to her Qrow had introduced Yang as his sister's daughter and the resemblance? Not there but that's not her place to say).

"I should have known better than to let you stay in a place that trains children to fight your family. I was foolish and you paid the price. For that I am eternally sorry. Rest well darling."

Eclipse set her bouquet on the gravestone prompting Yang to do the same.

"Rest well dear Cerberus," the blonde said.

The two then began back towards the house as the sun rose behind them.

Oh yes, because Eclipse was being extra dramatic about her Beowulf's death ("He's dead you heartless bastards! Show some damn compassion!" ← read that in a voice that is quite clearly choking back tears and you have Eclipse a few days ago; yes she found a way to get a custom headstone in like 3 days she knows a guy) she refused to do this at a reasonable time and made Yang get up at around 5 in the morning so that they could hold this thrown together funeral.

Now 4 hours later, Yang had gone back to sleep, Tai was cooking, and Eclipse was sitting on her floor having taken off her funeral attire (which consisted of a black collared shirt, a black tie, and jeans).

Her outfit was now a cropped purple hoodie and shorts along with various rings and her gloves.

She was attempting to summon...something.

Ever since she woke up she hadn't been able to summon anything successfully. It was like Erebus had simply sent her back to the beginning of the year at Beacon.

'Godly deals are a sham. Complete bullshit, why didn't I learn from mythology?'

All of a sudden a shadow struck out and knocked over her bookshelf. Her head snapped over to the tall piece of furniture and she dove out of the way so she wouldn't get squished.

As much as she liked her, Eclipse didn't fancy being the same height as Weiss anytime soon.

"Shit," the teen cursed. She crawled over to the shelf and checked it to make sure another shadow tentacle wasn't going to come out of nowhere and snap her neck. "I really need to remember that gods actually can kill me without repercussions, unlike professors. Guess I gotta fix this shit now, huh?"

As Eclipse sat there, on her hardwood floor, in comfy clothes, after just having put her loving pet to rest, she really couldn't be bothered to do anything other than sit and try and conjure an emotional support Wyvern or something.
