Chapter 21

Asahi's P. O. V:

When we get to Giyu's estate, Ren and Kiaria take turns of having baths before I tend to their injuries.

Giyu only has one spare room so I let Ren and Kiaria have that one, while I share Giyu's bed. I didn't mind at all.

We each had a quick bite to eat before I tuck my Tsugukos in bed. Giyu offers to wash my haori and gives me his for the night. So I'm now wearing Giyu's burgundy and green and yellow checkered haori. It was really warm.

I thank him as he goes to wash our haoris, with Ren's and Kiaria's.

Ren asks, lying on the side closest to the door, "Sensei, why did you come to help us tonight?"

I pause before exiting the room, my hand resting against the doorframe, and look back at them. Kiaria seems a little surprised by his question and gives Ren a raised eyebrow.

I let out a soft sigh and pull back into the room as I go over to their bed. I perch on the edge as I answer Ren's question.

"It's because you're my Tsugukos and I care about you a lot. Of course I'd come for you. No matter where you two are, I'll always be there in a moment's notice to protect you." I gently brush back some of Ren's hair as I add softly, "You're my precious Tsugukos, and I'd tear the whole world apart just to find whoever caused either of you harm."

"Even after I've caused you trouble, you'd still protect me?" Asks the Kurosawa.

I smile softly as I nod my head and say, "Always. You may try to push me away, Ren, but I'll continue to be there for you no matter what. I will seal away your darkness. I promise."

Ren stares at me in shock for a long moment. Tears prick his eyes before Ren wipes them away.

I was about to get up when Kiaria asks, "Asahi Sensei, can you sing something please?"

I look back at her before I smile. "Sure."

I think of the song before I start to sing, my voice soft.
