Alexis spent the next couple of weeks watching the house. She tried to blend in with other Muggles or would use an invisibility charm when there weren't many people out. She learned Lucius's habits and patterns, following him at a safe distance anytime he left the house, which happened to be often enough. It seemed that Lucius struggled to stay in one place too long. From what Draco had said, they would stay in hiding for a few months to 6 months before leaving.

It seemed like Narcissa hardly left, content with staying indoors most days. Alexis couldn't blame her; November came with a bitter chill and a wicked wind. She wondered whether Narcissa only left when Lucius was gone but couldn't know for sure.

One dark, Friday evening, Alexis was following Lucius down a busy London street. He often went to this one bar at night and left in the early hours of the morning. Alexis never went in, she simply waited for him to leave then followed him home. Today, she was preparing to walk in and meet him when someone grabbed her arm, spinning her around.

"What the fuck are you doing?" Demetri asked, his face scrunched in anger.

"Demetri? What are you doing here?"

"Answer my question first."

"I'm going to meet Lucius." Alexis pulled her arm free from his grip.

"Alone? Do you know how stupid that is? Why wouldn't you tell me?"

"I was going to tell you after," Alexis replied. "Why are you here?"

Demetri sighed and loosened his black tie. "I tracked your wand from the Ministry."

"Are you fucking serious? Why are you tracking my wand?"

Demetri looked over Alexis's shoulder. "Because you do stupid things, like this."

"I've been coming here for the last two weeks and you never showed up."

"I've been busy," Demetri said.

"If the Ministry can track wands, why didn't you track the Malfoys?"

"They're unregistered," Demetri explained. "Lex, you're not going to meet him alone."

"Having a 6 foot bloke standing behind me isn't going to put him at ease," Alexis shot back.

"I'll stay back, I promise."

Alexis narrowed her eyes, looking doubtful.

"Lex, he's one of the most dangerous wizards alive. Please."

"Fine, but don't stare in my direction all night. From what I've noticed, he's very cautious. It'll set him off."

Before Demetri could answer, Alexis set off again.

She made it to the bar and entered before Demetri protested. The bar had a few people in it, but was otherwise empty for a Friday night. Alexis went to sit at the bar, a few stools down from Lucius. His long, blonde hair was tied back and he wore all black. His face was recently shaved, leaving a bit a stubble.

Alexis ordered a drink and watched Lucius from the corner of her eye. She couldn't help but notice how much he resembled his son. He hunched over his drink, eyes averted downward, appearing stern and serious.

Alexis looked across the bar where a mirror stretched along the wall. She could only partly see Lucius, the shadows covering his face. She looked at herself. Her hair was down, which was unusual for her, the light brown hair cascading over her small shoulders. She chose to wear a black top that was slightly revealing and tight jeans. Normally, she would wear something practical but she was trying to get his attention.
