My Horror Story

Seventeen

When I get home, I park then turn off the truck. Sighing deeply, I look at Hallie who is looking all around "welcome to your new home Hallie" (I'm changing what Hallie looks like)

Getting out of the truck, Hallie and I walk up to the door and open it. Walking inside, I'm so unfocused from the tiredness and watching as Uncle Ben's body was taken away that when I walk into the kitchen I witness the most horrifying thing "so are you two an item or" Ronnie screeches, if your wondering. I was hungry so I walked into the kitchen and I saw Ronnie bent over the table as my dad is behind her.

"Mallory!" Dad calls out, I just go over to the fridge and get an apple. Yeah, my dad and I we like cold apples so we leave the apples we buy in the fridge "oh god, what you saw"

"Dad" I stop him. Looking at them, I see dad puts on his pants and Ronnie puts on his shirt "Hallie and I just got home and I'm tired and hungry, so I'll make this quick. I'm fine with you two dating, but if you want to make this a bigger thing then later we can go out to eat and talk about this" going up to my room, I quickly eat my apple before throwing the core away and going to bed. I already fed and took Hallie out for the bathroom, so now it's just rest.

When we wake up, it was because Hallie needed to use the bathroom again. So we get up and I let her out into the backyard, I then hear someone's voice so I look over to see dad. Tears are in my eyes before I hug my dad "I'm so sorry my little mutant that I wasn't there for you"

"You were busy" I say to dad "I understand, just...I can't lose you dad. I just can't"

"You won't" he promised, we are silent when Hallie comes over before dad says "Ronnie and I want to have dinner and talk about what you saw earlier"

"Oh god, did you put a baby in her?" I ask looking at him

"No" shaking his head "but we need to catch you up on a lot of things"

"Oh" I stop when I look at dads eyes then I touch his hand and put my ear to his chest and pull back asking "dad? Are you a vampire?"

"One of the things we wanted to talk to you about" he tells me "now get ready, we are going to Cora's Cafe in a couple hours. Leah and Xander will watch over Hallie as we eat" I nod my head.

~Two Hours Later~

I'm with dad and Ronnie in a booth at Cora's Cafe, we have been silent for about ten minutes until dad breaks it asking "how are you doing?" Dad has brown contacts on to hide his red eyes.

"Survived death" I say "can't be said about Uncle Ben, Aunt V or Violet" drinking my coke "I'm sorry, it's just-what exactly do you want to talk about really?"

"How about we talk about how you feel about what you saw?" Ronnie suggests "I mean"

"As I told my dad" eating a fry "I don't mind you two dating or whatever" waving to them "I just want you dad to be happy, you too Ronnie so if it means you both making each other happy" shrugging my shoulders "then okay"

"Ronnie and I" dad said "we started this about a week ago"

"And dad turning? What happened?"

"I was bitten in Seattle" dad tells me "around Christmas" so a few months ago "as you saw I don't go for animals but humans cause"

"I understand dad" looking at Ronnie "I imagine your dad hates this"

"Been demanding I come home" Ronnie smirks "Jacob shifted"

"What?" I ask

"He shifted" Ronnie repeats "after he was turned down on a date by Bella Swan about a week ago"

"You need to keep him silent" I warn her "Jacob is the one who basically told Bella about vampires so..."

"I'll make sure Sam understands that" Ronnie nods her head

"So...just tell me what I missed"

"Sam tried to get custody of Leah's daughter Harley who was born a couple months back" taking dads hand smiling "but your dad managed to help Leah get full custody but Sam has to pay child support each month" she then gets into everything.
