So today my school is holding a ThinkFast, meaning that I have to go a whole day eating only bread & water - wish me luck!

Anyway, this is a sort of fun chapter where you get to know the characters a bit better. It's uber long & I know it makes me smile, so I hope you enjoy it too (:D)

Note: the song that the title refers to is by Rilo Kiley, but when I searched it on YouTube this video showed up. Since my brother has played it so many times this song has sort of grown on me so I hope you don't mind the slight switch up.

Let me know what you think. (:

Entry sixteen:

Love And War. Tonight was a riot. Where do you get these crazy ideas Dexter? And where did Kaaleb get the war paint? Because that is some top quality face paint. I realize you were there so I wouldn’t need to recap, but years from now when I look back at these times I want to be able to remember this night.

So it all began when Gavin came to pick me up. Mom and Dad were in the study working, but that didn’t stop Jessica from insisting he come in for a coke or something, though apparently he’s more of a ginger ale kind of guy. She decided to play the role of over protective parent /sibling, and started interrogating him. He happens to be very good at coming up with answers on the spot, or else he’s had a lot of experience with judgmental parents. I guess that would make sense though, since he is wearing huge black cargo pants – which turned out to be perfect – a dark hoodie with a huge skull across the back, a Tokio Hotel T-shirt and his fringe is lying across his right eye, completely covering it. I’m sure the black nail polish doesn’t help matters either.

Jessica asked him questions like “Where are you taking my sister, what are you planning on doing with her, when are you bringing her back and are you prepared for Dexter’s wrath?” all in one huge breath.

He responded easily with “The park, I’ve got a list, when we’re done with my car, and he better bring It.” checking off each answer against his fingers. It was great; I couldn’t help laughing, especially at Jess’s offended expressions. I can only imagine what she made of those answers, though they were all completely honest.

As soon as he’d answered all her rapid fire questions, and before she started babbling random nonsense he stood up, shot his can into the recycling bin then pulled me up to stand beside him. “Jess, if we don’t get going we’ll be in a lot of trouble, so I’ll see you when I see you. Bye!” I said over my shoulder as he pulled me towards the door.

“Don’t do anything stupid” she yelled as we got in the car and pulled away.

“I love your outfit.” he complimented me. And I’m glad he noticed because I worked really hard to pick it out. I was wearing a black tank top under my camouflage jacket, a comfortable pair of bleached skinny jeans and a headband with a big lacy bow on top.

The defining piece though definitely had to be the nerf guns strapped to my back. I noticed his were resting on the back seat and replied with a smirk, “Nice guns.”

He turned toward me laughing at my horrible pun and gave me a quick peck on the nose. Sadie wanted to start analyzing what that meant but before she could Jamie cut her off saying “He’s driving you idiot. He has to pay attention to the road and her cute little nose happens to be sticking out at right about his mouth level.” I’m glad at least one of us can look at this in perspective, though I didn’t realize just how against this Jamie was.

I’m glad people designed programs like MSN, Skype and the like. It’s great that we all had a chance to chat before we even met. It also makes me smile that our list was a combined effort, so we had the genius of four minds to plan this night. Here is what we ended up with (and Gavin appreciated our use of a list to plan the afternoon by the way):
