Firstly I'd just like to thank whoever gave this story it's first vote - I'd thank you personally if I knew who you were! I try not to include the typical vote/comment/fan note because I know you've heard it all before, but feedback of any kind really does make me happy, so feel free to do any of the above :)

Warning: the video to the right is incredibly cheesy & very 90s, the song's still pretty good though.

Also, I <3 Gavin, if he weren't my character I'd definitely want to get to know him :P.  Hopefully you come to love him too as the story progresses. Anyway, I'm keeping you from officially meeting him! (I swear I'm not crazy...)

Enjoy!

 Entry twelve:

Show Me Your Colours. So it turns out the guy's name is Gavin, according to what he told me. If you're wondering what happened, here's how it went down:

I walked across to his booth and sat on the bench across from him. He was a little busy typing something, so since I brought my journal I started to randomly doodle in the margins (aren't my doodles great?) since I didn’t want to start a whole new entry at the risk of it being interrupted.

After a couple minutes of typing furiously he finished with a flourish, and I'm pretty sure he pressed Ctrl+S. Yay, I'm pro! Anyway, once he was done, I said hi (with Sadie whispering in my mind that I had to sound confident and actually look at his face. I did, and he sort of half grinned, half frowned in confusion as he responded with a "who are you?" Which I suppose is a totally rational response.

"Sorry, that was rude of me, I'm Sammi" I said, offering my right hand. He shook it and kept staring.

“Gavin.” He introduced himself briskly, as if he couldn’t care less about names. Sadie told me quite a few obscene things I should tell him, but I went for, "I noticed you had the same lunch as me."

"So you like tuna sandwiches and tiger brownies too?"

"Yupp, I think they're great." I responded with a bright smile as Sadie and Marny both crashed their foreheads against the walls of my mind. Ow, I didn’t know they could cause a headache like that.

"Hm, that's nice." he said in his unbelievably smooth voice, as he started looking around the room as if for someone to get him out of this awkward situation. That made me look down self - consciously and twirl my hair around my fingers.

He seemed to notice my discomfort, even if I'm the one who caused it and quickly told me, "don't worry, it's not you, it's just that I was supposed to meet a friend for lunch and apparently they decided not to show up"

That just gained him an open mouthed stare from me.

"We have the exact same lunch then!" I randomly exclaimed as I kept staring at him. He didn't seem to get it, so I explained that I'd been waiting for you before I came over.

He seemed to understand me, so he kind of smiled and said, "Cool."

"So what were you so busy writing?" I asked him curiously since he seemed to have spent a lot of attention on it.

"Oh, well that?" he asked quickly indicating his laptop, I nodded and he continued, "I was just working on my NaNo. Oh sorry, that's - "

"Isn't it a bit early to be working on your NaNo novel?" I interrupted his conversation. "I mean it's only September..."

Gavin looked a bit surprised but glad that he didn't have to explain it all to me. "Oh, yeah, well I'm still finishing up my novel from last year...I’ve kind of been putting it off."
