One Night to Forever

"She's annoying! As in!" Bongbong ranted to his childhood best friends during dinner.

Win chuckled. "Bakit naman?"

"She's everywhere pare. Pagkagising ko naririnig ko na sya. She's the first person I see in the morning. Tapos palagi syang nagluluto ng breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Simula ng dumating sya sa condo wala ng katahimikan like palagi syang may mga bitbit na pagkain or groceries, palaging may kausap. Ang dami nyang mga organizers, she insisted pa to iron my clothes. My god! She's making me crazy." Bongbong rolled his eyes as he summarized his first month with Leni.

Leni continued with her routine— cooking for him, sending him food, ironing his clothes, keeping track of most his schedule, and other chores to keep his life a bit easy. But all he did was to ignore her and all her efforts.

Chiz laugh. "Ikaw naman, gusto lang maging asawa sa'yo eh."

"Asawa." Bongbong snorted. "I'm divorcing her once she gave birth, remember? Nagtitiis lang talaga ako eh."

"Don't you think you're too harsh on her?" Grace chimed in. The boys halted.

Bongbong frowned at her. "Grace, she ruined my life! Anong I'm harsh on her? Are you kidding?"

"Wala lang, I find her nice naman. I talked to her during your wedding. Mukhang mabait naman sya." Grace said. "Plus, can't you see grabe ang effort nya para sa'yo but all you did was to dismiss her. Mabuti nga nagtyatyaga si Leni sa'yo."

"Wow! And I should be thankful?" Bongbong scoffed. "Besides, I was clear to her that I don't like her. Sya tong buntot nang buntot saakin, minsan ayaw ko na nga umuwi sa condo eh. I sometimes think kung sinasadya nya bang inisin ako because it's effective."

"Grabe ka naman pare. Bigyan mo naman ng chance, malay mo talagang concerned lang sa'yo." Win said.

"Baka nga in love sa'yo eh." Chiz followed, he laughed with Win.

"It's not funny. It's pure shit." Bongbong rolled his eyes.

"Oh god!" Win exclaimed. They all looked at him. "Baka ikaw ang pinaglilihian nya pare! I knew it!"

Chiz laughed giving Win a high five. "Galing mo din talaga pare. The best ka!"

"Ano kaya kung sakalin ko kayong dalawa ngayon?" Bongbong glared at his friends.

They just laughed.

"Gusto ka lang naman pasayahin pare. Ang stress mo tignan. Para kang nalugi." Chiz jested.

"Stress naman talaga ako. I can't even get enough sleep because of that woman." Bongbong sipped his wine.

"Alam mo, Bong dapat nga matuwa ka kasi gusto ka ng asawa mo eh. Magpasalamat ka kasi she's sacrificing her time for you, to cook for you every day, to do all those little things for you. Hindi mo ba naisip na kahit naglilihi ang asawa mo eh nagtuturo pa rin sya araw-araw and at the same time she's taking care of you?" Grace ranted. She became teary as she remembered something. "Ang hirap kasi sainyo kayo na nga ang iniisip namin, kayo na nga ang mahal namin pero hindi nyo nakikita yun. Hindi nyo masuklian yun. Sobrang selfish nyo."

The boys were silenced. They knew that their best friend is going through something and they're just insensitive to talk about relationships in front of her.

"Sorry, Grasya." Chiz apologized.

"Hayaan mo na yun. Diba nga sabi pag mahal ka, babalikan ka." Win said.

"He's coming back, Grace. We'll make sure of that." Bongbong gripped her hand.
