🌹Part 5A : Chapter Four

~Year 2224~
~With Mitch~

Mitch walked into the FBI office in Portland and got confused looks.

"Are you the new guy?" A woman asked and Mitch nodded.

"Yes, that's me." Mitch nodded and the woman let out a hum.

"I thought you'd be younger."

"That's a first," Mitch stated as he followed the woman.

"I'm Anastasia."

"Mitch."

"I heard it was a demotion. Why did you get demoted?"

"I asked for it, my wife and I want to settle down but that couldn't happen when I have to keep moving around and leaving her for work, for months on end," Mitch answered honestly and Anastasia nodded.

"Is she pregnant now?"

"No, we're planning for one next year. She just started a new job... So did I, obviously." Mitch answered and Anastasia nodded as she walked to a desk.

"This will be your desk until we decide where to properly put you." Mitch nodded as he pulled out the chair to the desk. "I will be back in an hour to check how you are doing." Mitch sends two thumbs up.

Mitch silently worked for an hour before his phone rang.

"Love, what's wrong?"

"Well..." Daciana started before Mitch cut her off, "Please tell me you didn't try and kidnap another fox."

"No, I had a doctor's appointment. You told me to call you once it was done, so that's what I'm doing. Doctor's appointment over, everything's normal."

"Any surprises?"

"No. I should let you go now so you can get back to work." Daciana stated and Mitch nodded.

"Okay, I love you." Mitch mused.

"I love you too, bye," Daciana stated before hanging up and Mitch went back to what he was working on.

"How's everything going here?" Anastasia asked and Mitch looked at her.

"Good, almost done." She looked surprised at the fact that he was almost done with his work for the day. "Is there anything else you need me to do, because I'll be done with this in twenty minutes?" Mitch asked and Anastasia sighed.

"Give me twenty minutes and I'll see if there is anything else you need to do." Mitch nodded before going back to his work.

Mitch walked inside his house and looked around surprised at the mess.

"Love?" Mitch called and Daciana popped her head out of the kitchen.

"Yes, darling?" She asked and Mitch motioned around. "Spring cleaning," Daciana stated and Mitch stared at her.

"Love, it's almost November." Mitch pointed out.
