The first event for tonight is the campfire to set off the mood for the campers. Some students lead the lighting at kami ay nakaupo lang forming a circle and the campfire is at the center. I keep glancing at Angle which is currently, Angel and Lloren are having a chat. I think they're getting closer to each other now. The ceremony started and the audience cheer for the lighting. Nagbigay ng opening message ang head ng school and random presentations from the students.
Lloren stand up and give me a sign na she will use the comfort room for a while. Paulo approaches Angel and they're talking about something and maya-maya ay tumayo si Angel at lumakad papalapit sa akin. "Jastine, pwede bang mag-usap tayo saglit?" she said while offering her hands to me. I stare at her for a while, the fire lit her face up making her more dazzling tonight. Tinaggap ko ang kamay niya at tumayo mula sa pagkaupo. "What do you want to say?" I asked her still holding her hands. "Pwede bang mag-usap tayo in private?" sabi niya sabay lingon sa mga tao na nakaupo parin sa campfire. "Yeah right" I shortly replied at agad niya akong hinila palayo sa mga tao.
Hinayaan ko lang siyang hilahin ako and when we arrived near the bridge, huminto ako sa paglalakad kaya napahinto din siya. Lumingon siya sa akin, her face is puzzled at tila nagtatanong kung bakit ako huminto sa paglalakad. "Can't we talk here?" I asked her but instead she shook her head at pilit akong hinila. "Maliit na hakbang nalang Jastine" sambit niya sa akin habang hinihila ang kamay ko. Dahil nagpupumilit siya na lumakad pa kami, hinayaan ko ulit siyang hilahin ako kung saan man niya ako balak dalhin.
When we pass over the wooden bridge, bumungad sa amin ang mga cherry blossom trees pero mas nakakuha ng atensiyon ko ang mga kandila na nakahilira sa daan. Did Angel prepared something for me? I smiled a bit thinking about that. I don't know but I feel excited as well as happy knowing that Angel prepared something for me. Humarap si Angel sa akin at naghihintay kung ano man ang sasabihin niya sa akin pero nagulat ako ng may biglang yumakap sa akin sa likuran.
"Thank you for bringing him here Angel" sambit ni Lloren and loosening up her hug. "Walang anuman" tipid na sagot ni Angel. Lumakad siya paalis at iniwan kaming dalawa ni Lloren. "Lloren—.." hindi ko naipatuloy ang aking pagsasalita because Lloren cut me off. "I've been planning this for days already Jastine and I found that our camping will be the perfect day for this. Paulo, Angel, and the rest of the boys are helping me out to have our special night" hinawakan ako ni Lloren sa braso. She guided me to walk on the candlelight path. After several steps, we arrived near the lake and beside it, may nakahandang mesa na may pagkain at wine. There are flowers also at the table, obviously, she planned everything out.
"We've known each other for too long Jastine and I completely regret that time na naiwan kita mag-isa and that time, you're struggling a lot. I promise, I will treat you better and will never ever leave you behind if you'll give me a chance to be your girlfriend again" after she said that, a soft music played on the background at nakita ko si Ken na tumutugtog ng violin malapit sa amin. "Jastine, I might be bold or desperate enough to do this, but I still really really like you and I wanted us to start afresh. Magsimula tayo ulit Jastine" she slide her hands on her pocket and grab the couple ring similar to the ring that we had back then. It's a complete replica.
"Naaalala mo? This is the same design to our promise ring before and this symbolizes our love to each other" she said. I can see the sincereness in her eyes and I can feel it, that she still like me and that never changes. Hinawakan niya ang kamay ko at kinuha ang singsing mula sa lalagyan. She slowly put the ring on my hand and put the other one on her. She smiled after watching us having a couple ring on our hands.
For years, I waited for her. I like her so much that even in my worst days, I still even think of her. Even that she left me at hindi nagparamdaman sa loob ng dalawang taon, I can't even hate her. "So what do you think Jastine? What are your thoughts?" she asked while her eyes are focused on mine. She's smiling widely, parehang-pareha sa ngiti niya noon na sobrang nagustuhan ko. The smile that gives me comfort. The wind suddenly rushed over us and the cherry blossom petals started to fall to us.
Everything turned into a slow motion and I can see Lloren enjoying the leaves that fall on us. But the weird thing is, I only see Angel smiling at me while playing the cherry blossom petals. I never see Angel smiled like this before and it makes my heart beats faster. The petals slowly fall as Angel dances gracefully. My lips started to curved and I have the urge to pull her closer on my arms and hug her. Halos mabingi na ako sa tunog ng violin but I didn't mind it, I am lost in my own hallucinations. I slowly walk towards Angel, grab her and put her lips into mine.
The music slowly fades. Nang binuksan ko ang aking mga mata, instead of Angel, I saw Lloren kissing me kaya agad ko siyang tinulak ng mahina. "It means, we're official?" Lloren ask na tila masayang masaya sa paghalik ko sa kaniya. "I'm sorry, it was a mistake" I hurriedly said to her at tinanggal ang singsing sa aking daliri. "What do you mean Jastine? You just kissed me!" she said to me while stopping me from leaving the place. "It was a mistake Lloren, I'm sorry" sabi ko sabay iniwanan si Lloren sa lugar na iyon.
Naglakad ako ng mabilis upang makabalik kaagad sa campsite. Hinanap ko kaagad si Angel pero I can't see her anywhere. Hinabol ako ni Ken and stopped me from walking around. "Bro, what happened?" he asked na tila naguguluhan sa mga nangyari. "Where's Angel?" I asked Ken. "Umalis sila kanina, kasama niya si Paulo" he replied. "Where do they went?" pahabol kong tanong kay Ken. "I don't know bro, they just left" agad kong iniwan si Ken doon at nagpatuloy sa paglalakad upang hanapin si Angel.
I'm not sure about this, but I know that Angel already takes a special place on my heart.
