CHAPTER 39: The Miserable Fate

I was too stunned to speak. The room was so silent and I was just looking at Angel and Paulo while silently sitting at the couch. It's the first time in my life when a friend of mine likes someone whom I'm interested to. "I.. I still need to ask for permission for formality" he again started the conversation.

"Mas mabuti sigurong magpahinga muna tayong lahat" Angel suddenly speak up while she pushed herself up from the couch. "Paulo, umuwi kana dahil gabi na" she said as she pull Paulo upward and slowly push him towards the direction of the door. Paulo bid goodbye and Angel and I are left in the house. Agad na umakyat si Angel sa second floor at pumasok sa room niya. I know it's been hard to her because today I confessed my feelings to her and now, Paulo is also revealing his likeness to Angel.

I know Paulo won't have a chance too, dahil hindi maaaring mainlove si Angel to us, humans and when it's very impossible for me, it will also be for Paulo. Pero hindi ko alam, why, why I am freaking out? I walked towards my room and dropped my body to the bed and I didn't notice that in a blink of an eye, I fall asleep.

(Phone rings)

I slowly open my eyes and pulled myself up from bed. I hurriedly picked up the phone and it was my grandma checking me out. She wanted to visit me here at the house kaya agad na akong bumangon and prepared myself. After an hour, dumating si grandma at binati ko siya. "She's still here?" my grandma whispered on my ears. "Temporarily" I whispered to her back. She give me a wide smile at lumapit ito kay Angel. When she saw Angel's hand, she hurriedly asked, "Anong nangyari sa kamay mo, dear?" tanong niya while she's checking her hands. "She accidentally wounded herself grandma" I abruptly said because I don't want my grandma to ask more questions to her.

"Next time, you should be careful" my grandma advises her and she slowly nod her head. Grandma and Angel had a little chitchat on the couch while I keep the things that grandma brought me. After keeping, lumapit ako sa kanila and grandma brightly said, "Let's go buy some groceries"

"O-okay..." I replied because I don't really have a choice. My grandma ordered her personal driver to drive us to the nearest supermarket. Magkatabi kami ni Angel sa backseat and grandma is sitting on the front seat. Grandma was giggling and telling stories to Angel and kahit ako ang apo, ako ang hindi napapansin sa lakad na ito.

Narating namin ang supermarket at nauna nang pumasok sa loob si Angel at grandma. Magkahawak pa ang mga kamay nila na naglalakad papasok sa supermarket. Grandma signaled me to get a cart for them kaya I hurriedly picked up a cart from the counter and push it while nakasunod sa kanila na naglalakad.

They looked very happy while gathering some stuffs when I stopped dahil sa nakita ko. It's Lloren's parents. Napahinto ako when our eyes meet. Lloren's mother was shocked upon seeing me and her dad was just giving me a plain smile. "I didn't expect that we will meet here" he spoke as he extended his hands towards me. I simply reach out my hand to and we shake hands. "Me too" I shortly answered.

Besides that, Lloren and I were friends, our families are friends as well as business partners too. After the death of my parents, Lloren's parents take over with the company that my parents build for how many years. My father was the founder, and Lloren's father was the second largest shareholders of the company. They worked together for how many years and also, not only the bond that we have for business that strengthens but also our family-friend ties. Even before, they wanted Lloren and I to get married and to be successors of the company.
