CHAPTER 28: The Unexplainable Feeling

When I opened my eyes, I saw Angel walking towards my direction. May hawak siyang tray at Inilapag niya ito sa aking kama. "Kumain kana Jastine" ani nito na tila nanghihina o matamlay. "Are you okay Angel? It looks like you are sick" I asked her. Do guardian angels got sick too? "Okay lang ako Jastine, huwag kang mag-alala" she said while slowly smiling at me.

I reach out for her hand at nagulat siya nang mahawakan ko ang kaniyang kamay. "Are you still blaming yourself about what happened Angel?" I slowly asked her. Hiniwalay niya ang aking kamay mula sa pagkahawak ko. "Hindi ka dapat gumagawa ng mga bagay na ito Jastine sapagkat mayroon nang babae sa puso mo" ani nito. She's talking about the confession that I did to Lloren. "Angel, about that night, you know I realize something" sambit ko while reaching for her hand but she step back. "Jastine, sobrang nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng nagawa mo sa akin. Alam kong hindi mababayaran ng anumang barya ang nagawang tulong mo sa akin at habang buhay akong may utang na loob sa iyo pero - " hindi ko siya pinatuloy sa pagsasalita. "Why are you talking as if you are going to leave?" yumuko siya kaya I can sense that she is really leaving. Hindi ako nakapagsalita and the silence envelopes the atmosphere.

"Tinulungan ako ni Paulo na makahanap ng matitirhan Jastine at gusto ko sanang magpaalam sa iyo" she said. My heart suddenly beats faster. I can sense that this time she's not hesistant to move away. "Is my home uncomfortable?" I asked out of nowhere. Umiling siya, "Sobrang nagustuhan ko ang pagtira sa bahay na ito Jastine, pero hindi habang buhay na titira ako at aasa ako sa iyo" she said and bigla kaming nakarinig ng tunog ng sasakyan sa labas. "Nandito na si Paulo" she said. Bigla siyang lumabas sa room ko kaya even na masakit pa ang katawan ko at mahirap pa akong maglakad ay dali-dali akong lumabas and I saw Angel bringing her things downstairs. Paulo ring the door bell at agad naman itong binuksan ni Angel. Angel smiled when she saw Paulo and Paulo responded to her smile.

"Nagpaalam ka na ba kay Jastine?" narinig kong tanong ni Paulo sa kaniya. Angel slowly nodded and she turn her gaze on my direction. Nagulat siya dahil nakita niya akong nakatayo at nakatingin sa kanilang dalawa. "Wait here, I will talk to Jastine for a while" sabi ni Paulo sabay lakad palapit sa direksiyon ko. When he's quite closer, he smiled at me and started talking. "Are you doing okay now Jastine?" I didn't responded to his question instead I asked him directly, "Where are you bringing Angel?" he smiled and tap my back. "Don't worry bro, we find a place good for Angel" he said. "Wait, why is she leaving... bakit?" binawi ni Paulo ang kaniyang kamay mula sa pagkahawak sa aking balikat. "You know Jastine, it would be hard for Angel to live here knowing that you and Lloren are already in a relationship. It would also put Lloren in a tight spot especially if time will come that Lloren will figure out that Angel is not your cousin" hindi ako nakasagot sa sinabi ni Paulo. "Don't worry bro, I checked the place multiple times and I make sure that Angel is safe" he said while tapping my shoulders again.

Hindi ako nakasalita sa sinabi ni Paulo. "Maraming salamat sa lahat Jastine" ani ni Angel while she's giving me a "bow" as a sign of respect at pasasalamat. When they leave the door, I pull out my hair because of frustration. I need to figure out this mess. Before I even walk back to my room, I saw a familiar face standing near the door and smiling at me. May dala siyang mga pagkain and stuffs and she waved at me when she saw me staring at her. "Steady, I'll be coming there" Lloren said and run towards my direction. Pagkadating niya sa second floor ay agad siyang yumakap sa akin. "I miss you so much and.." itinaas niya ang mga dala niyang pagkain. "I brought some of your favorites" before I can even said a word ay hinila na niya ako sa loob ng room ko at pinaupo sa kama.

"What do you want to eat?" she ask but I'm spacing out kaya hinawakan niya ang mukha ko. "Jastine, I'm asking you what do you want to eat" she repeated the question. "Anything" I shortly replied. Napansin niya that I'm spacing out kaya she held my face and look at my face, "Are you not feeling well? May masakit ba sa katawan mo?" I removed her hands from my face. "I'm sorry Lloren but I need some rest now" I said to her kaya from her energetic vibe bigla siyang nalungkot. "Alright, if you say so. I will just leave these foods here at kainin mo yan ha" she said while slowly leaving my room. Pagkalabas niya ng room, humiga ako sa kama at hinanap ang phone ko. I open the message app and type a message to Angel, Where are you heading.... I erased the message and retype again. Where is your new place? I erased it again. Do you like your new place? I erased it again and this time I throw my phone on my bed.

Napatingin ako sa pintuan and I remembered the time when Angel accidentally opened the door and saw me half-naked. I also remember when she always sleep on my side when I'm dealing with my anxiety. Memories started to appear on my mind and I undeniably started to miss her presence kahit kakaalis lang niya sa bahay. Tumayo ako at kinuha ang phone ko, "This won't do, I need to follow them" I said to myself and lumakad ako palapit sa closet para humanap ng damit. I grab some clothes and put it on. I dialed Ken and Josh and luckily Ken knows about the place where Angel transferred dahil one of their property ang space na iyon. I hurriedly find my keys and pumunta sa garage. Even that my body started to tremble because of the thought that I will drive alone ay binawalewala ko ito because I wanted to check on Angel and to know if her new place is safe. I drove to the directions sent by Ken and luckily madali ko naman ito nahanap.

At the front gate of the house I saw Paulo and Angel laughing at each other. Angel shines so bright as the sun rays hit her face. Lumabas ako ng sasakyan. Hindi nila napansin na I'm looking at them because they're busy talking to each other. "Jastine, talagang pumunta ka dito" biglang sabi ni Ken na kasalukuyang may bitbit na pagkain. "Ah, I just wanted to make sure that the place is nice" I said. "Bro, it's our property of course it would be safe. But, why are you here? Are you okay now?" he asked while looking at my wounds. "Yeah, its quite manageable" ani ko sabay tingin sa direction nina Angel at Paulo. "Hey guys, were here" sigaw ni Ken and it gained the attention of Angel and Paulo. Nagtama ang paningin namin ni Angel and she suddenly look away. Ken walk closer to them and handed Paulo the foods. "Nagustuhan mo ba ang iyong new house?" tanong ni Ken kay Angel. Angel just smiled at nagpasalamat kay Ken. "Bro, bakit ka nandito? We can do the work kaya you can rest at your--" hindi ko pinatuloy ang pagsasalita ni Paulo at pumasok ako sa bahay ni Angel. "I can do simple work" ani ko sabay libot ng paningin ko sa bahay.

The house is simply fine and safe. I checked all the door and it is secured. The house is still empty dahil wala masyadong furnitures and the way I look at Angel, she seemed to like the house.
