everyone trailed back inside, the time was now 11:54 and i had 6 minutes before George locked me out.
"hey, when's your next game?" i asked ember as we where now in the lobby once more
"we are here for a tournament, three days with four games per, Friday, Saturday, and sunday" she smiled at me as all the girls got back in line with their coach who was now handing out room keys.
today was wedensday meaning tomorrow was the gala, and then there was the soccer games, which also means me and lily are going to be staying in California for a bit longer.
"okay" i squinted my eyes as i watched my family go back upstairs, phil staying behind and waiting for me.
"hey lily, we have to get going. i don't want George locking me out" i checked my phone and saw i had three minutes until midnight
"hes not gonna lock you out" she shook her head and hugged a couple girls
"you don't know that, hes scary when hes mad" i laughed and started walking towards the elevator
"take the stairs, theyre faster" lily said while she began approaching ember
"bye lils" she hugged my sister and lily hugged her back
"bye ems" lily repeated the goodbye, coming my direction
i saw this passion in her eyes, like a competitive passion, then before i knew it. she bolted for the stairs, getting a head start.
"your shitting me" i dropped my arms and turned to look at phil and ember who just laughed at me and lily
"can i" i pointed towards the exposed stairwell, one that i could easily jump up the sides of, but it would raise questions and i needed phils consent
"go" he through his arms in my direction and that was all i needed, my left foot slid from the ground and my right hit it even harder. i managed to make it to the stairs before lily was halfway up one floor, then i gripped the stucco sides, them having perfect grip.
"no don't you dare" i heard lily squeal from the second floor, her running faster than she probably thought she could up stairs.
"your the one who wanted to race" i yelled from the floor, getting a good grip with my feet, i began throwing myself up and i jumped one floor at a time. obviously i made it to the third floor before her and she was upset about it
"that is so unfair, you are a literal ninja" she squinted her eyes and crossed her arms as we stood at the top of the stairs.
"yeah well you didn't say i couldn't climb it when you took off for the stairs without saying anything" i laughed and turned around, looking off the edge to see phil smiling and giving me a thumbs up while embers mouth was dropped and she staired at me in awe.
as i looked down at them, i saw the rest of the team also staring at me with a range of shocked faces displaying on them.
"oops" i turned around and saw lily laughing at me
"shut up" i scoffed and pushed past her, practically jogging down the hallway because it was 12:00 and i was scared of George
"fuck me" i grunted and bolted around the corner, which is where i biffed it, catching myself with my free hand. after all the commotion i managed getting to the door at 12:01.
i knocked a couple times and didn't hear a response
"George let me in" i pleaded as i messed with the door handle.
"no" was all he said, or at least that's all i heard.
"George please, its twelve o one" i put my head up against the door and made my words echo into the room
