THIRD PERSON POV
wilbur began to stand up and so did lily, the two of them taking one more look at the blonde before beginning to walk out. but as lily turned away from clay, she felt a pair of hands around her neck.
wilbur spun around at the sudden commotion and his eyes froze when he saw clay was now awake, and holding a scalpel to her neck, already drawing blood.
"clay" wilburs voice was quiet, hushed as he didnt want to alert the police right outside the door.
"where the hell am I" his voice was very raspy, it was practically gone and it caught wilbur and lily off guard.
lilys hands were holding clays hand, keeping it from slicing through her throat.
"he doesn't recognize us" lilys voice was quiet, looking at wilbur as she used her strength to hold clays hand away from her throat.
"its been four years clay, you've been missing for four years" wilbur started inching forward, but froze when clay noticed and started pushing the blade harder into her throat.
"its only been a month, its august and I was kidnapped in July" his curly hair was tucked behind his ears, now healthy instead of crusted.
"your birthday was a week ago, your twenty seven" wilbur tried to inch closer but ultimately couldn't because clays senses hadn't faded.
"im thirty two, please clay just please" wilbur was starting to let his nerves get to him, there were tears threatening the corners of his eyes and it scared him.
"I was thirteen when you went missing" lilys voice was calm, she was trying to get him to remember.
"its impossible" clays voice was scary, it sounded like he smoked a pack a day for a dozen years, but it didnt affect lily or wilbur.
lily really wanted him to remember, but there was no use. he was refusing to believe it even if he knew it was true.
the blonde girl used her left elbow and hit clay in the ribs, using her right hand to pull the scalpel from his hand. before he could react, clay was on his chest on the bed with lily twisting his arm behind his back.
"lily!" wilbur gripped her shoulder and she let go, clay groaning in pain as she was pulled away from him.
but truth be told, lily was mad, lily was mad that he used his life to save everyone else's. she wanted to hug him, but he didnt even know who she was.
lily pushed wilburs hand off her shoulder and walked out the door, picking up her sword and wiping away the little droplets of blood on her neck as she alerting the feds that he was awake.
"clay, please you have to believe us" wilbur pleaded as clay stood back up, holding his slim shoulder in pain because lily was twisting his bone out of place.
"I cant- I just cant" he stuttered and looked down at his body, seeing he was wearing hospital provided sweat pants and one of those thin gown things that tie in the back.
"phils dead" wilbur used the last remorse he had in his body in his last sentence, he was done being nice even if it killed him on the inside.
clays head snapped up and looked at wilbur with a mix of confusion and shock, but when he saw how actually hurt wilbur looked, it was starting to set in. his head started to pound almost like it was on cue, and memories started to flash in and out despite him still remembering them.
the night he got arrested, the night he was chased through the café in Silverton, when corpse and sean got him out of the prison van, the night he met wilbur, phils face when he said he was ruining his life, when he chose his family over george.
