Dazai Being a Drama Queen

Dazai: *lying on the couch*

Kunikida: *glances up from his work at Dazai* Dazai.

Dazai: Yeeeesssss?

Kunikida: Is it safe to assume you haven't done much work, if any?

Dazai: That's the safest thing to ever assume.

Kunikida: *sighs* You need to get some work done.

Dazai: But that's so borrriiinnnggg...

Kunikida: It still has to be done.

Dazai: But Kuuuunnnniiiiikkkkiiiiiiiiddaaaaaa...

Kunikida: What?

Dazai: How could you say such a cruel thing to me of all people?

Kunikida: All I said was that work needs to be done.

Dazai: THAT'S SO MEAN!!!!!! *fake cries*

Kunikida: ...I- ok. Alright then. *watches Dazai*

Dazai: *keeps fake crying*

Atsushi: *walks in* Erm...what's wrong with Mr. Dazai?

Kunikida: Beats me. All I said is that he needs to do his work?

Dazai: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...

Atsushi: *eyes widen* Ok what on earth?

Dazai: THE WORLD IS ALL DARKNESS AND NO ONE LIKES ME!!!!!!!

Kunikida: I have no idea and I'm not sure I want to know. And that's not true, Dazai.

Dazai: WHAT A CRUEL, CRUEL WORLD! WHY CAN'T SOME PRETTY LADY AGREE TO A DOUBLE SUICIDE WITH ME ALREADY?! *still fake crying*

Kunikida: *sighs and walks over to Dazai*

Dazai: *looks at Kunikida and pouts*

Kunikida: Are you ok?

Dazai: No. *looks sad*

Kunikida: *sits down next to Dazai*

Dazai: *still pouting*

Kunikida: I wasn't wrong when I said you need to get your work done, but I'm not trying to make you sad.

Dazai: You aren't...?

Kunikida: Of course.

Dazai: *perks up* Yay!

Kunikida: *smiles*

Dazai: *smiles back*

Atsushi: *watches them*

Kunikida: But you still have to do your work.

Dazai: *pouts a little* But Kunikida...

Kunikida: What?

Dazai: *grins* Can you do it for me?

Kunikida: DAZAI!

Dazai: *laughs*

Kunikida: I already have a lot to do.

Atsushi: Yeah Mr. Dazai, it's not fair to make Mr. Kunikida do it all.

Dazai: Alas, young Atsushi, you're right. I apologize, my dear Kunikida.

Kunikida: It's fine.

Dazai: But I tried to get you to do my work again.

Kunikida: I'm aware.

Dazai: I really shouldn't do that.

Kunikida: You're right.

Dazai: I'll try and be better about that.

Kunikida: I'm glad to hear it.

Dazai: But first, I need a nap.

Kunikida: Did you not sleep again last night?

Dazai: ...That's besides the point.

Kunikida: I knew it! You didn't.

Dazai: Yeah...I had trouble sleeping again.

Kunikida: Sorry to hear that. *pats Dazai's head*

Dazai: *smiles a little* Don't worry about it.

Kunikida: Take a nap if you need to. But I will be waking you up later to get your work done.

Dazai: Yay! Thanks, Kunikida. You're the best and I love you.

Kunikida: Yeah, yeah, I love you too.

Dazai: *smiles and promptly falls asleep*

Atsushi: *looks shocked*

Kunikida: *notices* What is it, kid?

Atsushi: You just...told Mr. Dazai...he could take a nap...while it's work hours.

Kunikida: I did.

Atsushi: I never would've expected that from you.

Kunikida: I know. But he didn't sleep well last night so I may as well let him rest a bit.

Atsushi: That's really nice of you.

Kunikida: *shrugs* I'm just doing what any decent human being would do.

Atsushi: Maybe, but Mr. Dazai always really appreciates it.

Kunikida: True.

Atsushi: Welp, I should probably do my work, too. Bye, Mr. Kunikida.

Kunikida: See you, kid. *waves*

Atsushi: *waves back and leaves the room*

Kunikida: *looks at Dazai for a minute*

Dazai: *peacefully sleeping*

Kunikida: *smiles and gently kisses Dazai's forehead*

Dazai: *smiles in his sleep*

Kunikida: *carefully gets up so he won't wake Dazai up and then lays Dazai across the couch*

Dazai: *continues sleeping*

Kunikida: *rubs Dazai's head and then goes to his desk to work*

Needless to say, everyone else who came into the room that day was not shocked to see Dazai sleeping on the couch, for that was a common occurrence. What they were shocked to see was Kunikida not lecturing Dazai or telling him to get his work done. But it was a nice change that brought some peace to the room, which everyone enjoyed.
