29. Cars

cars? really?

The next few days must've been rough for Aizawa. The school's name and his own kept appearing in the news, something had gone wrong at their training camp and now a kid was missing. The news wasn't being very specific and each channel had their own conspiracies.

"So what do you think's going on?" Daiki asked, flipping through the different news channels on the TV.

"I dunno" You mumbled.

You were sitting on the living room floor in front of the couch. Haru was playing cars with you.

"Whatever it is, I hope it's resolved soon" You said.

"Mommy, what does resolved mean?" Haru asked, crawling after a little toy car that he was rolling around.

"To fix a problem" You answered.

"Resolved" Haru whispered to himself. "Okay"

Daiki settled on a channel that seemed to be doing an interview.

You turned to look at the screen when you heard Aizawa's voice.

"Look mommy" Haru said. He stopped pushing his car around and put his finger on the TV screen. "Eraserhead"

You nodded. "Yes, I see. But no touching the TV"

"Sorry" Haru said, quickly pulling his hand away. He went back to pushing his car around.

"This is the first time the school is actually addressing it" Daiki said. "Maybe they found the kid"

You and Daiki both watched the broadcast from the school, in was a brief message from Aizawa and Principal Nezu. Haru looked up at it every now and then but was more interested in his car.

"Wow!" Haru said at the end of it. "Eraserhead sounded so, so cool!"

You hummed and started pushing around the toy car that you had forgotten you were holding.

"They still didn't find the kid?" Daiki asked.

"They're gonna get him, Daiki" You said. "They'll do it"

"Taking an awful long time" Daiki muttered.

You shook your head. "It can't be as easy as it looks, I know they're trying their hardest"

"Mommy, are you still playing cars?" Haru asked, sitting up and looking over at you.

You pushed your car towards him and nodded your head. "Yes, baby"

Daiki leaned forward on the couch and looked at you and Haru. Haru had been crawling all around the living room for the past ten minutes, and he wanted you to do the same but it was clear that you were more focused on the TV.

"Do you have another car, Haru?" Daiki asked.

Haru nodded his head. "You wanna play cars, daddy?!" Haru jumped up to his feet and ran into his room to go find another car for Daiki.

"You want to play cars?" You asked from the floor.

Daiki nodded his head.

"Oh" You said to yourself as you watched Haru run out of his room with another car and over to Daiki.

"You can use this car, daddy" Haru said while handing the toy car to Daiki. "You have to roll it around the couch"

"Around the couch?!" You repeated. "Why was I never told that rule?!"

Haru giggled. "I changed the rules"

"Oh, so now we're all going around the couch?" You asked. "Are we racing?"
