Aizawa could tell that you were upset. But no matter how much he tried to get you to admit what it was to him you just said you were okay.
You had gone to bed that night with a frown on your face, wearing it even as you laid there in the dark with Haru.
You missed Hana.
As much as you wanted to be angry with her still, you really just wanted to see her. You wanted to talk with her, really talk with her. Like sit down on the couch with her for a couple hours.
You also wanted to see Keigo. You wanted to talk with him as well, and you just really missed him.
You also missed someone else, someone you didn't even want to admit that you missed.
"Why are you sad, mommy?" Haru asked, twirling his finger around a few strands of your hair. "I think this is the happiest place to be"
You nodded your head. "It is a happy place, I like staying with Eraserhead" You told him. "I just miss Hana... And daddy"
"You miss daddy?" Haru asked confusedly. "Why? I don't wanna see him"
"I know" You said. "I miss daddy but from before you knew him. He used to be nice."
Haru shook his head. "Daddy was never nice, only for a few weeks and then he'd be mean again."
"You don't know, baby" You said. "When I met him he was nice. He used to treat me so good."
"Like what?" Haru asked as he snuggled closer to you and then turned to look for Cheese. You scooped Cheese towards you both with your arm until she was touching Haru's back as she was before.
Haru laid back down and put his thumb in his mouth as you continued talking.
You thought for a moment, thinking back to your early days of dating Daiki, when he was seemingly the perfect boyfriend. "You know when we go to the doctors or the bank, and they give us a lollipop?"
Haru nodded his head. "I like the lollipops"
"I do too" You said with a smile. "I used to eat lollipops in school because I could easily eat them while studying. And whenever daddy would go to the doctors or the bank, he'd bring me a lollipop from there the next time he saw me."
Haru looked conflicted. "That is nice..."
You nodded your head. "Daddy used to be so nice to me" You could feel the tears building up in your eyes just from thinking about how much he changed since then. "He made me so happy, and I used to be sad for a long time before I met him"
Haru still seemed confused, but he also didn't want you to be sad, and he could tell you were sad. "It's okay, mommy, now we're happy too"
You gave him a small smile, still forcing your tears away. You remembered that he was only three, and you probably shouldn't confuse him too much with all of this now. "Yes, we're happy now"
Haru nodded.
You leaned forward and kissed his forehead. "Goodnight baby, let's get sleep"
"Goodnight mommy" Haru said back.
You snuggled him close to you and closed your eyes, feeling peaceful with Haru in your arms. After just a few minutes, you managed to fall asleep. Haru was still awake though, he was still confused and thinking.
Haru looked over your face, finally calm after trying to hold back your tears before. He didn't want to wake you up. It took you so long to fall asleep.
He was sure that he could handle it by himself, he was hungry, so Haru carefully sat up. Cheese lifted her head so Haru scooted her over so she was against you. Then he slowly slipped out of the bed and started making his way downstairs.
