59. Rescue

"You think he'll answer the door?" Aizawa asked Keigo.

Keigo nodded. "He's stupid, but he's not stupid."

Aizawa and Keigo were standing at your old apartment, Keigo had knocked on the door already. Now they were just waiting for Daiki to answer.

You were sitting in the car a few houses down so Daiki wouldn't see. You had tried to get out of the car when you first got there but Keigo and Aizawa both said you should just wait there. So now you sat there nervously with tears running down your cheeks, hoping that Daiki didn't do anything to your baby.

"He's not gonna let us in though..." Keigo mumbled. "He knows we don't have a warrant. And he knows we don't have anything that says he has to give us the kid."

"So what are we supposed to do?" Aizawa asked. "We're not leaving here without Haru"

Keigo nodded. "I know we're not, one of us is gonna have to sneak in. -And not got caught, Daiki will not think twice about hurting us."

Aizawa gave him a confused look. After all, this was the number two hero talking about getting hurt from a civilian.

"He's like 6'3" Keigo said with a shrug. "Dude can crush bones and would probably like to crush my bones"

"He is way more than 6'3" Aizawa said.

"He grew?!" Keigo asked. He kicked at the ground. "Not fucking fair"

Just then the door opened. Not fully, just enough for Daiki to stand in the gap and not let the two heroes see past him.

"Keigo" Daiki said.

"Daiki!" Keigo said back, as if they were old friends. "Wow, you did grow" He looked up at the man who towered almost two feet over him.

Daiki nodded his head, waiting for Keigo to get to the point. "Why are you here?"

Keigo gave him a look. "I think you know"

"No" Daiki answered. "Why are you here? I haven't done anything wrong. I think I would've heard about it at work if I did something that would bring two heroes to my doorstep."

Daiki looked at Aizawa when he said 'two heroes'. "Eraserhead? Is that it?"

"Yeah, cool name, right?" Keigo asked quickly. He cleared his throat. "So we heard about Haru... We just wanted to check on him."

Daiki was still staring at Aizawa, and it was making Aizawa uncomfortable. He felt like his bones were gonna get crushed just from the stare, if Keigo was even being serious about that.

"You've been fucking my wife?" Daiki suddenly asked, still staring at Aizawa.

"Woahhhh!" Keigo dragged out, chuckling nervously and waving his hand around. "That is a craaaazy accusation!"

Just cause Aizawa could feel the pressure on his bones already didn't mean that he was gonna back down. He was staring back at Daiki, it wasn't as intense as Daiki's stare, but at least he wasn't looking away.

Aizawa nodded his head.

Daiki's jaw clenched and Keigo could see a vein practically popping out of his forehead.

"Wow, that was even crazier to admit to" Keigo said as he continued to nervously chuckle. He was just trying to keep a fight from breaking out. Fighting Daiki would be like trying to fight a nomu with super strength, except it would have a functional brain. 

Daiki clenched and unclenched his jaw a few more times before he turned his attention to Keigo. "What about you? You've been fucking her too? Finally get to live out your high school fantasies?"
