You tried not to make noise as Daiki pulled a shard of glass from your foot with a pair of tweezers.

"Almost done" He said as he dropped the piece into a tissue he was holding.

You sniffled and nodded your head, looking down at your hands in your lap.

You and Daiki were sitting on the bathroom floor. Your feet were in his lap and he was holding one of them up while he picked pieces of glass from it.

After a few more sniffles and a few more minutes, Daiki wrapped each foot in bandages and announced that he was done.

"Don't get yourself hurt again." He said as you both stood up and he kissed the top of your head.

He watched you wince as you tried to shift your weight some other way on your feet, but it seemed like every adjustment still hurt. So he picked you up and opened the bathroom door.

Daiki turned away from the broken glass and blood that was left in the kitchen and went to the bedroom where he put you down on the bed.

"I'll clean it this time." Daiki said as he kissed your cheek.

You mumbled a quiet 'thank you'.

"It's gonna get better around here, I promise." Daiki said as he pressed his lips to your cheek again.

You leaned away because it hurt, he was pressing his lips too hard against a fresh bruise.

"Sorry." He said quietly when he realized. He gave your cheek a light kiss this time and then patted your leg. "I'm gonna clean up the kitchen, stay here so you don't get more glass in your feet."

You nodded your head and then got one more kiss on the top of the head before Daiki left the bedroom.

You sat on the bed for a while and stared at your feet, watching the blood slowly soak through the bandages at some parts. It felt oddly nostalgic, except the last time you were pulling glass from your feet you had a newborn attached to you.

That made you think about Haru now. You wondered if he had gotten bigger since you were gone, when he was a newborn he'd grow out of clothes in days, sometimes less.

You suddenly crawled up to the top of the bed and moved Daiki's pillow.

Nothing was there.

You stood up from the bed and ignored how much it hurt your feet as you walked to the closet. Anything you could open, you opened, any clothes that could be moved, you moved.

But you didn't find anything.

Somewhere high?

You stood on Daiki's bed and looked on top of the book shelf, only to find nothing.

You took a deep breath as you went to his dresser. You didn't want to start panicking, or to start getting upset, it would only make everything harder.

You checked each drawer, sifting through clothes and finding random empty bottles from years ago. Then, in the top drawer underneath a bunch of t-shirts, you found two things.

One was a small book that you had never seen before. You opened it and it seemed to be a journal. There were words written on every spot of every page.
