The next morning Luan lay in his bed for an extra hour after waking up, embarrassed to face Thoma after his own fit yesterday. Thoma had never gotten upset with him, not seriously anyways, and he was anxious about the seriousness at which Thoma would be acting this morning.

He took his time washing his face and getting dressed before gingerly walking out of his room into the family room and then kitchen where Thoma had his back to him, cooking breakfast.

Luan cleared his throat and Thoma turned to him with a soft smile. Luan still felt anxious but sat down at the island anyways.

"Umm.. so about last night.." Luan began quietly but Thoma set a plate of oatmeal in front of him and shook his head. "It's okay. I'm sorry to have scolded you last night, I was just hurt that you were choosing Mikey over me," Thoma said and turned his back once again.

Luan looked down into his poorly made oatmeal and sighed. "I didn't realize that it seemed like a choice between the two of you, and for that I'm sorry. You are so much more important to me than him, and I will work to show you more and more everyday that that is the case." Luan began and Thoma was leaning against the counter opposite him, listening to everything he said.

"However, I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried about him." Luan said quietly, just waiting for Thoma to interject but he didn't, "he was someone who used to be really important to me. And yes, I understand that he has done some pretty horrific and horrible things but, as I've been learning in Psychology, nothing is done without a reason, even if the reason is petty or stupid. Ugh.. I'm just rambling now..." Luan said, his face getting red and he began to crack his fingers nervously.

"So what would you like me to do until you find the answers you're satisfied with?" Thoma asked without any hint of malice in his voice. Luan felt like shit all the same.

"Understand that I see Mikey as an old friend who needs good people in his life, and not as someone I used to date." Luan admitted and Thoma squeezed the skin between his eyes.

"What he needs is therapy.." Thoma mumbled but nodded. "Okay. I will be patiently waiting for you until you find out everything you want to."

There was an awkward silence that followed.

"Umm.." Luan started.

"Is my oatmeal that inedible?" Thoma said awkwardly but Luan laughed and held up an overcooked lump of oatmeal off his spoon. "No, sorry, my dear."

Thoma blushed at the term of endearment and Luan now spurred on after breaking through their awkward talk made his way around the counter. He wrapped his arms loosely around Thoma's waist and looked up to him.

"You seem to find terms of endearment...uncomfortable?" Luan mused and Thoma turned his eyes away but put his arms around Luan.

"No..no...I actually LIKE them. I just... they're too cute coming from you," Thoma admitted with a blush he tried in vain to hide with the back of his hand.

"Mmmm," Luan said and leaned up to peck Thoma's reddened cheek. "So which ones your favorite? What should I call you?" Luan teased him and Thoma tried to playfully push Luan off of him and walk away. Luan, however, grabbed onto his shoulders and let Thoma drag him through the kitchen and into the family room, calling pet name after pet name.

"Babe! Honey! Angel! Hottie! Sexy baby!" Luan said followed by a fit of laughter as Thoma made it to the couch and reached around to put Luan on his lap.

"My beautiful Thoma," Luan said and kissed Thoma sweetly, "The bestest boy," he said and kissed him again. Thoma stared at him with soft eyes and smiled.

"You can call me whatever you want," he said softly, "just don't call me late for dinner." He said in all seriousness and Luan was ready to choke him.

"You're so stupid," Luan said with a laugh and Thoma began to squeeze his side. "What did you expect from dating an old man."

"An experienced lover? Perhaps a sugar daddy?" Luan teased and Thoma spanked him hard enough to make him yelp.

"What do you mean 'experienced lover'? Was our sex not mind-blowing?" Thoma said began to press his hands deeply into Luan's hips, making him squirm.

"No... it was... really good.." Luan said, begin to get shy.

"Really good? Guess we have to keep doing it until its all you can think about.." Thoma said in all seriousness and flipped Luan onto the couch.

"Wait.. Wait!" Luan said but Thoma placed himself between his legs and kissed him hard.

"Thoma...honey.." Luan said in between kisses and Thoma pulled away.

"What is, my dear?" Thoma said and Luan's stomach churned.

"I-I ...can't do it again.. today.." Luan admitted and Thoma's eyes widened.

"Oh." Thoma said and leaned back. "I'm sorry, I didn't even think about.. that."

Luan sat up and cuddled into Thoma's side. "I mean, of course it's gonna be swollen after something like that... but in a few days it should be okay... to do it again." Luan said and hid his face.

Thoma put his arm around him and kissed his head. "I can wait a few days I guess." He said teasingly.

"So did we settle on pet names for each other, my dear?" Thoma asked and Luan shrugged. "I think that we can just call each other whatever feels right in the moment, I guess."

Thoma looked at the time on the clock on the wall and patted Luan's shoulder. "You have class today right?"

Luan sighed. "Yeah, just two."

"Want me to drive you?" Thoma offered and Luan looked up at him. "You going back to the office today? Cause if not then don't worry about it."

Thoma confirmed today would be his first day back and they both got ready to head out.

As the door shut behind them Luan blurted out words they were both avoiding. "I should probably go back to my dorms this week." He said and Thoma nodded in answer.

He'd gotten rather used to having Luan as a roommate and he knew he would miss having him around all the time. But his dorms weren't that far away and Luan was sure to come visit all the time anyways. Thoma used all these thoughts to comfort himself from the impending loneliness.

Luan kissed Thoma goodbye before heading out and he sat in his car watching him until he disappeared into the building.

"He's got me wrapped around his finger."

Thoma was receiving a call and he quickly answered. It was his boss checking in on him and making sure he was good to come back today. After confirming and hanging up Thoma sighed, spared one last glance towards the building Luan disappeared into and then drove away to get back to his long abandoned schedule.
