The Girl In The Forest

Neteyams pov:
I followed behind Tsireya to what would be our new home. This place was beautiful but it wasn't home. I started to think about the girl I saw in the forest and the panic on her face when she saw I saw her. Given I grew up in the forest, I can see it a lot better rather than the ocean Navi could. I wasn't going to rat her out but I was going to talk to Lo'ak about it. I trust him not to say anything.
I knew I was already going to explore into the forest even though it was forbidden. It'll remind me of home, but now that I know a human is living there I really need to see whats going on. How could she live all the way out here without anyone noticing? I figured after the feast and eclipse I could walk in and try to find something.

y/n pov:
I ran back to the lab as fast as I could. I can't believe I got spotted. As I ran into the lab I ripped off my mask and thought of what to do. I sat on my bed and figured I should keep a low profile. What if he tells someone he saw me and they come and hunt me down? They will kill me.

I looked out my window and stood up to get closer. I noticed eclipse was coming so I changed into my night time clothes which was a tanking top that was now short on me given I grew since i was a kid and put on a mask that was only covering my nose and mouth. Is it a good idea for me to go out? Maybe im just over thinking, maybe he didn't see me.

I opened the lab door and looked around before stepping out. I made sure to have my bow and dagger with me just incase any animals tried to attack. I should be safe given I set up traps around the lab, but it doesnt hurt to be extra safe when you're small living in a world built for 9ft tall people. I got out of the lab and closed the door. I went around the back to the stairs I built to get up to the roof. Getting on the roof I laid down looking at the stars. This world is so beautiful. I was relaxing until i heard steps coming towards my lab. I sat up and crouched down so I'd be read to move if i needed to. Living in this forest, i had to sharpen my hearing and smell.

Looking around I didnt see anything out of the ordinary, Until I heard breathing behind my lab but i couldn't see anyone. I turned back around loosing the sound of the breath and when I turned back around I saw an 8 ft tall navi climbing onto a tree. I had no clue what to do so I hissed. Hes going to kill me isnt he? I went to grab an arrow for my bow realizing i left it in the lab. I obviously wasn't going to kill him, I just wanted to protect myself. The navi was about to jump on my lab when i grabbed my dagger throwing my bow down towards the door.

He stood up staright and started walking towards me. I got my dagger in a ready to cut position while hissing again and he put his hands up and slowed his walk. I was scared because I didnt cause any harm to anyone, i was living on the land of eywa like them.

"you know your human right?" he asked me I gave him a confused look

"I obvously know Im human you Skxawng" I knew very little of the navi language but like I said, ive been watching them. He gave me a confused look along with his ears going back. "How did you find me? and what do you want" i asked with an attitude

"I'm not going to hurt you, I can tell you dont want to hurt me either so you can put the dagger down." he smeiled at me "My name is Neteyam, I just came to this clan from the forest and saw you when we arrived but how did you get here and whats your name?" he asked furrowing his forhead. something about him I can tell he didn't want to hurt me. If he did he would of already.

As i put my dagger back slowly eyeing him, "my name is y/n," giving him a side eye as i went to walk off the roof, "how I got here doesn't matter". I tell him with hurt in my voice thinking about the past again.

"Are you just going to jump off?!" he asked worried. i just gave him a look a rolled my eyes as I got on the steps slowly showing him im not stupid. "Skxawng" i turned my head and smiled.

I got down to the ground and went to walk away from the lab to a tree that I loved. I could here his foot steps runnign behind me and I couldnt help but to get defensive and turn with my dagger and hiss. "Im not going to hurt you I promise" neteyam said widening his eyes trying to get along and noticing my teeth. "why do you have fangs?  And what happened to your side?" He said reaching towards it, I stepped back and looked at him.  what did he want with me? Why was he so curious? I wanted to be like the navi so bad that i sharpened my teeth into fangs when I was younger.

"I dont, theyre normal teeth. I got thrown into a tree and If you're not going to hurt me why were you running behind me?" I stood up straight acting like i was as tall as him my confidence making me. "because I wanted to catch up to you, I had a human friend back at home my family helped raise him. I want to know you" neteyam said, I could see him being truthful so i put the dagger back again. i got closer to him and he was beautiful. His eyes, and what looked like glowing freckles. I was amazed, ive never been so close to a navi before. i caught myself reaching my hand to his face and stopped it and coughed

"Well lucky him, I was raised by the land."
