The Girl Reborn / Neteyam x reader

Apologies

Today is the day we are leaving and I've got nerves and excitement building up in me.

I was the first to wake as the sun rose. I got up from Neteyams side and walked outside of the hut.

I got outside and stood there taking in a deep breath. I looked at the sun rise and smiled to myself taking in its beauty.

The way the colors mixed with each other perfectly was stunning. The blue mixed with different shade of reds, oranges, pinks and yellows.

Thinking to myself, as I looked into the sky, I'll be flying in it for a long time.  But I'll be flying and when we come back I'll have my own. 

We decided we were going to be staying there for a couple weeks and let the parents know how it's going in the forest. 

I heard walking coming to the doorway so I turned my head to see neteyam already smiling at me.

"Are you excited" he asked picking me up and spinning me. 

"Yeah, what gave it away?" I asked laughing. 

"Why else would you be the first to get up," he said setting me down and kissing my cheek. 

"It's not abnormal of me to be up first," I said playfully pushing his arm.

"You are so wrong," he said pulling me back into a hug and putting his face on the crease of my neck. 

"I can't believe I'm actually going," I said smiling.

"Well believe it, and we get to spend a couple weeks there" he said pulling away grabbing my hands.  "I always dreamed one day I'd be the leader of the clan you know,"

"I could see you being a great leader," I told him pulling his hands to my chest.  "Who said you guys staying here is permanent,"

"What about you?" He asked me looking into my eyes to find one answer only.

"What about me?" I asked him back.

"What if us staying here is not permanent, what about you?" He asked

"My home neteyam," I said stopping and looking deeper into his eyes, "my home is where ever you are, that is where I will be, that is where my loyalties are,"

He smiled at me cupping the side of my face. "You had me scared there for a second when you paused," he said kissing my forehead.

"You are my home as well, I love you so much," he said joyful. 

"I love you too neteyam," I smiled at him.

"I love you, no I love you da da da bleh bleh bleh," Lo'ak said mimicking us laughing with Kiri.

"I think they're cute," tuk said nudging her brother. 

"Thank you Tuk," I said smiling at her. 

"You boys go and get the Ikrans ready," Jake said making the boys leave.

"You keep them safe," Jake said to handing me my bow and arrows. 

"I didn't know this was a mission," I said pulling him into a hug. 

"It's not," Neytiri said giving a look to Jake.  "But do, keep an eye on them I know they will Listen to you" she said pulling me into a hug.

"If anything happens you'll know what to do and how to be smart about it, just don't any of you get hurt," Jake said looking at me to make sure I understood.

"I will sir, you can trust me," I told him and neytiri.

I looked over at Kiri and Tuk and pulled both of them into a hug smiling.

"Our home is so beautiful you're going to enjoy it," Kiri said pulling away. 

"Now go help them and send neteyam in here," Jake said shooing me away laughing. 

I walked out to the beach and walked over to neteyam. 

"Your dad wishes to see you," I said to him tapping on his shoulder. 

"Okay love, I'll be right back," he told me kissing my head and leaving. 

"I'll be right back," Lo'ak said laughing, "like we didn't know that"

"Hey, I didn't," I said laughing and started to help lo'ak with his Ikran. 

We were making small talking waiting for neteyam to get back while also setting up the ikrans for the journey.

"Y/n" I heard from behind me.  Lo'ak looked up and his face went angry. 

I turned to see Aonung there looking at the ground.  Lo'ak walked around his Ikran and went to push him but I stopped him. 

"What," I said monotoned.

"I want to apologize for my behavior," aiming said earning a snicker from Lo'ak.  "I'm being serious," he said looking up. 

"We don't need your apology," Lo'ak said turning away. 

"Explain yourself," I said crossing my arms.

"I'm jealous that you are on the hunting team and I am not as the chiefs son, I wanted to make a point to my father but failed, I am so sorry for fighting you, multiple times," he said at the ground. 

I could still hear Lo'ak snickering behind me.  I kicked my foot at him to make him stop.

"I will let you know if I accept your apology when I return," I told him turning to the Ikrans.  "Now leave before neteyam sees you," I said over my shoulder.

"Thank you," he said walking away just in time. 

Neteyam rushed beside me and put his arm on my back, "what was he doing, are you okay I swear if he said one more thing I will beat him,"

I looked at him trying to get him to shut up so I could answer him.

"Did he say something," neteyam said turning to Lo'ak, "why didn't you do anything," he asked his brother.

"Bro," Lo'ak said holding up his hands.

"If you let me speak I'll tell you," I said looking at neteyam who nodded his head, "he apologized for the way he acted," I said turning over to his Ikran.

"You're kidding right, he jumps you and now he acts all sorry, nope I don't by it," he said ranting.

"Neteyam, stop, I'm fine and it will be fine, I'm sure his mom and dad gave him a stern talking to" I told him.

"I just care," he said coming back over to me.

"I know you do and I love that about you, but I will not hold it against him as I could see his genuine apology, but I didn't give him that satisfaction" I told him. 

"Good Good, we're almost ready to leave are you ready," he asked me.

"I'm as ready as I'll ever be," I said smiling as his parents came down to say good bye.

We all have each other hugs and said our food byes. 

I got onto neteyams Ikran after him and held onto his waist as we started to take off.  I looked behind me seeing the whole clan that looked beautiful from above.
