Broken Promise

We were walking through the woods hand in hand. He was basically dragging me out of the woods back to the clan.

I was so confused on what was going on. I heard Neteyam ask his dad to get Ronal and the Chief through his microphone on his neck.

We got out of the forest and I stopped to look at Neteyam. "What are you doing" I asked pulling him back. He looked at me asking me to just trust him.

He turned back around and started walking again and I started to struggle. Idk what he was going to do but I didn't want to do it.

We got to the hut and I started struggling more trying to get away until he pulled me inside. I looked at him with hurt in my eyes. He looked back, "tell them y/n,"

"No," I begged. I didn't want everyone to know what I was going through. The whole family was there with the chief and his wife.

"Tell them!" He yelled, I get he was scared for my safety but I just wanted to deal with it on my own.

"Neteyam stop," Neytiri called to him. I looked at her and Jake then I looked at Tuk who was scared.

"Shut up Neteyam," I told him starting to get upset even more. I broke the contact we had.

"Tell them what just happened and what you've been going through," he said pointing at everyone.

"You promised me," I yelled hurt he was doing this. "Why are you doing this," he tried to grab my shoulder but I stepped back looking at him not to touch me.

Neteyam soften his eyes, "if you don't say it I will," he said causing me to giving him a dirty look.

Everyone was starring at us and I heard Tuk ask what was going on. Neteyam heard her too and he chuckled to himself that I wasn't saying anything and turned to everyone.

"After she died she went into this void and now it's still lingering around her along with flashbacks of her death," he said looking at everyone. I started to cry out of anger and betrayal.

"She's been trying to seem fine around everyone but she's struggling" Neteyam said looking at me. "She just had a seizure because of this being too much and I think she was seizing for a while" he said looking at everyone.

Everyone gasped at what he said and looked at me. Everyone looked worried about me even more this is exactly what I didn't want. I looked at everyone crying and breathing heavy.

I looked at Neteyam angry and he tried to step closer to me, I shoved him back with tears falling.  I felt so angry I could just snap.

"I trusted you," I said to him pointing "you said you'd keep it between us"

"Y/n, I think you're having something called PTSD it's-" Jake started to say.

I cut Jake off, "NO" I yelled with a hoarseness in my throat pointing at him when he took a step.  He looked shocked at my response and the way I snapped. He stepped back into place seeing what I was going through right now.

"You knew about her struggling and didn't tell us," the Chief said pointing to everyone but directing it towards Neteyam.

"It's not like that sir, I realized I made a mistake waiting so long," he said.

"You... you lied to me" I said trying to leave. Neteyam grab my wrist and I pulled away just yelling at him with no words just a sound of hurt pushing him lightly I looked at him with hate in my eyes. "Leave me alone," I said looking down and seeing my bow in his hand, I yanked it out and took it. 

I ran out of the hut into the forest. I didn't know where I was going but I just wanted to go somewhere. I ran and ran through the forest trying to escape my problems. I ran as far as I could before falling out of breath. I just wanted to be okay and he broke my trust.

I screamed in frustration and anger, "why won't this go away," I said to myself kneeling on the ground

I looked up and saw my tree.  I stood up walking over to it numbly, "y/n please," I heard Neteyam speak. 

I turned around and drew my bow and an arrow feeling completely betrayed and like I was fighting for my life on the ship again while getting mini flashbacks.  Neteyam held up his hands and stepped back, "I said leave me alone" I said deeply.

"I just want to help and they can help," he said stepping closer.  He could see my head wasn't in the right place. 

I drew up my bow more acting like I was going to shoot, "go away!" I yelled at him. I closed my eyes and saw more things on the ship form in my head.  I screamed and shook my head trying to get rid of it but it was no use and I just kept getting angrier.

"I'm not going anywhere," he said.  I felt scarred and i didn't want to shoot him but I felt like I was in battle again mentally.

I let off the arrow to fly passed him on purpose.  I hissed at him and he looked at me scarred watching the arrow go passed him.

"What is wrong with you?" He's asked seeing me be a completely different person. 

I dropped my bow to my side and looked at him angry, "what is wrong with me?" I asked in disbelief he could even ask that. 

"This isn't you," he said looking at me and my stature.  He looked at me like I was a stranger but I was just hurt.

"I know this isn't me!  You want to know what's wrong with me?!" I yelled at him with my throat raw walking closer to his slowly.  He nodded his head, "I DIED NETEYAM!" I yelled at him and he flinched back as I got closer to him.

"I died and I was scared and now I have this permanent scar on my soul tossing me back to my death every time I close my eyes." I continued to yell getting closer.  "I died for you, and your family so they could keep their son, Their brother! I died to keep you alive"

"I didn't want you to die" he said back thinking I was blaming him.

I let out a breath, "but I did die Neteyam, because I love you so much I put that on my soul!"  I shoved him lightly, "I gave my life for yours not knowing I'd come back and you broke my trust," I had tears falling out of my eyes I pointed at him with my bow.

"I just wanted to help, Ronal and my mom can help you if you let them," he said pleading with me. 

"I wasn't ready to tell everyone!  You forced me and made me seem like the issue," I yelled at him and shoved him again.

"You're Not the issue, I just wanted to help" he said genuinely.  I looked at him with hurt in my eyes and he did the same, "look I'm sorry but your seizure scared me and I don't want to lose you again,"

"You don't think I'm scared," I said pointing to myself, "this feeling is surrounding me and I'm being eaten alive by it!" I closed my eyes and felt it around me, "I don't expect you to understand it and I wish I could show you"

"Please forgive me," he said stepping closer and grabbing my arm.  I just looked at him.

"You should of asked me before doing this, I could of agreed but you did it and threw me under the bus."  I told him looking away.

He pulled me into a hug but I just stood there. "Look I know I messed up but I just wanted to make this go away for you, I'm scared for you. I will always fight for you and your safety."

I hugged him back feeling regret for getting so angry and started sobbing.  "I almost shot you," I said pulling away.

"It fine love, I could tell you weren't thinking straight" he said but I felt so bad.

"It was like I was on the ship again," I said mentioning the flashbacks. 

"Y/n?" I heard Ronal behind us with the chief, Jake, and neytiri.  I turned looking at them. 

"How long have you guys been there?" I asked them.

"We followed Neteyam out," Jake said. I realized they must of seen everything and stayed silent.

"Have you connected to the spirit tree yet?" Neytiri said walking forward to it. 

"No I haven't," I said looking between everyone.  Neytiri and Ronal looked at each other and nodded.
